Floss Friday #143

I am still playing catchup (again) 🤣 I never posted last week because it was quilt zoom day and then I just … forgot. Oopsie! So here we are making up for lost time.

I have a bit to share with you but first wanted to just let you know I have been on a hunt for the fabric I knew I purchased for the June WIPGO project Field Guide to Dragons. I searched in all my unpacked cross stitch supplies (and realized I am missing all of my 14 ct aida hmmm). Then I realized that I probably had put it in the tote bag of cross stitch haul that still needs to be scanned and organized. I looked in that tote twice. I went to put away some recent haul from 123 Stitch and my new FQS Stitch Quarterly in THAT tote. Guess what I found? Yep, the missing fabric. What a relief!

To Do Tuesday #145

Oops! Has it been two weeks? Sorry about that. I got wrapped up with guests again. This time it was my brother Scott in from Brooklyn, New York. He stayed with me a few days before heading down to Corvallis to see his grandkids. It was awesome seeing him. It has been a year. The most exciting thing we did was do a hike at

It was a beautiful day for a hike – sunny & 70F. Only issue I had was that it said it was 2 miles but it was really 3 miles 🥾🤪. I survived. This hike is not an easy hike. There is a lot of elevation. I opted to go UP the steepest part and come down the sloping hillside. As always, coming down is harder than going up. Great hike though! Great company.

Floss Friday #142

Hello Everyone! I have a few pictures to share from the Honeymooners who were in Grand Teton most of the week but migrated to Yellowstone yesterday. I thought I would share a few pictures with you. They have reported (and I have seen the pics) that they have seen a Black Bear with 2 cubs, a marmot, several different moose sitings, and of course bison. Jannes has never been to either park while Caitlin has been, she was only 6 when we were there last. So… it is an adventure for both of them on their honeymoon. So glad they are having a great time although 30 minutes drive to her house and then back again everyday is getting old. Enjoy these few photos.

To Do Tuesday #144

This week has found me settling into more normal routine except for the daily trips to do kitty chores for the honeymooners who are currently in Grand Teton National Park. It has been a heatwave here but all of us are mustering through. In my truck it hit a high of 99F. Today is way cooler. Such a relief after the past several days.

Grand Teton National Park

My friend Carol Schmilt who is our host for To Do Tuesday in British Columbia has also been affected by the same heat wave. Planning to link up with Carol this week. Check out the blog and the linkup for inspiring ideas.

Floss Friday #141

Hello Everyone! It is going to be a hot one here in Vancouver, Washington. Totally California weather with it hitting upper 90’s (maybe) for the next 3-4 days. Update on the daughter and her husband, they left Thursday for their honeymoon at Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Parks. They were excited to be going. Caitlin has been before but that was back in 2001 so she doesn’t remember much. This will be Jannes first time! Original plans were for last year and I was going with them. Since I decided to move, I didn’t want to make a committment to going this year. Now I am glad they have a the next two weeks to themselves doing what they love.

To Do Tuesday #143

Whew! What a chaotic two weeks! My daughter Caitlin is happily married and getting ready to two weeks of camping (and half marathons) with her new hubby at Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The wedding day went off without a hitch. It was great to see my grandson Shaun after almost six weeks. Here are a few photos from the wedding day:
