To Do Tuesday #180

Welcome back my quilty friends. It has been two weeks since I posted. Not much happened two weeks ago and very little happened this week either. Life has been happening around here including a gorgeous weekend spent sitting in my backyard reading books!

I plan to link up with Carol over at Quilt Schmilt this week for To Do Tuesday. Please swing by and check out projects and blogs. Just click on the link to get to see everyone’s posts.

WIP Updates

April ended with a quiet slient slide into May. No hoopla after all the excitement of the quilt retreat. Just suddenly it was MAY! Not a lot going on as I settle back in before heading out for another week on the road.

Farmers Wife 1920 Block 50 – Honey’s Choice
Farmers Wife Blk 50 Honeys Choice WIP

This week was feeling like some slow stitching so I pulled out my Farmers Wife project. I was able to finish another pinwheel unit. This block has one more pinwheel block to make then assemble the final row of the block. I need to figure out the next couple of blocks now that I am so close to finishing this one.

Here is my first block for May. This is still my leaders and enders project. Nine blocks left! Next block will be blue….

Finished the center of my next pumpkin and started working on the units for the rest of the pumpkin.

Weekly To Do List

Under My Needle – Churn Dash block

From last time’s To Do List I was able to do:

  • Worked on Farmers Wife 1920 EPP block 50

Everything else I did was not on my list! LOL! Typical of my ADHD to have such squirrel 🐿️ moments. But even my squirrel moments were on task. I am dying to start a new project but I have not (yet).

Here is what I am thinking for next week:

  • Start cutting 4 1/2 inch blocks for the PNW Hip To Be Square quilt for the pieced border
  • Quilt Turkey Lurkey wallhanging
  • Finish Farmers Wife 1920 EPP blk 50
  • Continue working on Stars Aligned pieced border
  • Bolt up all the fabric I purchased at Portland Quilt Festival
  • Put away all my Tula Pink Floral Reef Fabric and kits
  • Still need to pick a panel to make into a quilt top
  • Continue loading fabrics on mini bolts
  • Finish Autumn Seeds blk #6
  • Start Bring Home the Tree next car block
  • Pull Fabrics for May Monthly Color Challenge block
  • Work on Blue Churn Dash

Happy Mail

Floral Reef Happy Mail

Received the new kit for the Floral Reef fabric collection by Tula Pink called Marine Meadow Quilt. It looks fun. I decided to throw in the picture the 1 yard bundles I received at the beginning of the release. I am still waiting for my Pink Door Fabrics box for this collection. Maybe this week. 📬. Very tempting to dive in….

I noticed the color palette 🎨 is quite different than her prior ocean/sea collection Zuma. This one has a lot more purple while Zuma had more orange reds. I was thinking I would be able to mix and match but not so sure. Something to play with at a later time. Maybe I can make a complete RAINBOW 🌈 of the sea quilt. Something to think on.

Musings

Quote

Working on making a new routine and haven’t quite got there yet. Or at least I haven’t found my groove. I have two quilt days this week so that will be fun. Thursday will be all day and Friday will be whenever I can join in. Really really want to finish up my Turkey wall hanging so maybe I will quilt that one on Thursday and bind it on Friday. Sounds like a plan 🙂

Had some time this week to think about what I hope to accomplish in May so updated those on the web page. That’s it for now! Have a great week my quilty friends. Thank you for stopping by.
