Continue reading “Floss Friday #187”Welcome back Stitchy Friends! Excited to watch the USA play Paraguay in the World Cup tonight. It will be a weekend full of World Cup games and time for stitching. Love it!
Just in case you were wondering. For me a start is when I start a new CHART. Some projects have multiple charts and I consider them a seperate project because I don’t have to stitch all of them. I am doing quite a few series and each is a seperate chart so seperate project even if I decide to do them as one larger project. This thought process evolved to help keep me motivated and keep up momentum.
On the other hand, when I finish stitching a CHART, I am calling it a finish. This is not to be confused with FFO (Final Finished Object) which when they happen for me end up in its own category. I am just horrible about that final step so you don’t see that here often.
With that said, I had a couple of starts this week.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #184”Welcome back my stitchy friends! Wow! It has been an eventful two weeks. I had the cross stitch retreat hosted by 141 Design Company and travel home. I would love to tell you that I got a ton of stitching. Well… I talked more than I stitched. LOL! Of course isn’t that what retreats are for. Let’s take a look at my weeks.
No finishes this last two weeks but I do have to new starts. I hope to finish one more project and start another. Keep your fingers crossed.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #182”Hello my stitchy friends! It has been a wet and busy week. It was nice to find some time to stitch and unwind. I can not believe how fast February is flying by!
No new starts or finishes for this week.
Made some great progress this week. Let’s take a look.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #170”Welcome back to my cross stitch blog! I was distracted this week with other crafty projects that you can check out here but still a good week. We have continued to have pretty nice weather for a February in the PNW. Starting this weekend we will be falling back into the normal February weather patterns – rain. So enjoying the last of the sunshine ☀️
Surprisingly, I have had some activity in this category with three starts and one finish.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #169”Welcome back my Stitchy Friends! Here we are in the first week of February already. The weather here in the PNW has been absolutely gorgeous reaching as high as 60. Very unusual this time of the year, but enjoying each every sunny day. It has been a very busy and productive week so lets get started
No new starts this week, but I had a surprise finish.

This was stitched on 16 ct pewter aida with the called for Colour & Cotton floss. I really like working with quaker patterns. This was just fun seeing all the hand stitching items for cross stitch, hand sewing, embroidery, etc. The bees were a nice touch of symbolism.

No new finishes this week but I do have one new start which I was excited to work on.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #166”Hello My Stitchy Friends. Welcome to this week’s update on my cross stitch projects. I appreciate you stopping by. While I did not stick to my plan, I had a good week. Let’s dive in.
No new finishes but I do have one start. I was definitely feeling festive.

Hello Everyone! It has been a busy week here. I have been working on kitting and prepping all of my fall new starts. I have a crazy process.
First I decide on them. Next I pull threads. If it is a “purchased” kit, I check my floss inventory for used skeins. I update my Excel sheet (Floss Inventory) for number of skeins in the kit and my actual inventory numbers. This why if I have a little kit for something, I know where I can temporarily pull floss from if I need to or borrow until I order some online. I really like how it has been working these past couple of years.
Once that is done, I make sure I have fabric in the kit. Afterwards, I go to the sewing studio to prep the fabric (zigzag the edges). This has been done for all but one of my fall projects this week.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #157”Hello Everyone! I am finally home for a while. It feels so good to be home although I had a great time in NYC. If I find some time, I will do a travel post to cover everything I did in September & October. It has definitely been a very busy fall so far. I am looking forward to some extended time at home and to get back to my normal routine.
Unfortunately for all of you, this may be a bit longish. I will try and wrap up all of October since my post on October 3rd.
