Floss Friday #16

Happy Friday everyone! Wow! The week flew by. I don’t have much to show you this week since my focus is getting my pre-stitching done for my upcoming finishing class on October 7th & 8th. Just two weeks away.

Starts

No new starts this week.

Finishes

I have one finish that dates back to 2020!

Feels Like Home SAL by Fat Quarter Shop

It felt really good to finally finish the stitching on this project. It was one of my first stitch a longs as 2020 was the year I decided to pick up cross stitch again.

It was stitched on 25 ct cloud lugana with the called for dmc threads. My first evenweave project. I made a major boo boo with the bird. Instead of taking it out, I improvised a correction. I think he looks pretty good.

Now I have to decide if this will be a wall hanging or a pillow.

Works in Progress

Wear it Well by Hands On Design – Class Project

I have been diligently working on this class project. I am not going to lie. It has been hard to stay focused on just one project. It is not my way. The only thing that has made this even remotely possible is the fact that there are 5 total charts to be stitched on 2 pieces of 18 ct perforated paper and 2 pieces of 32 ct linen.

I was dreading the linen as I have a hard time seeing the threads in the 32+ ct linen. This particular linen has been doable. Maybe I have gotten better? Or it is just an easier linen. I don’t know, but now I will pull the 32 ct belfast linen back out and give it a whirl.

I have finished all three charts that go on the perforated paper. (see feature photo for chart #3 finish)

I have gotten a good start on the larger of the two charts for the linen. Below is my progress so far.

Upcoming

This weekend is a stay at home weekend. I hope to get some quality time in on the larger linen chart. With it being just two weeks away, I am a little nervous that I won’t finish in time. I have been rewarding myself with stitching on something else between class charts. I’m torn between June Sampler of Month and Summer Baskets. Join me next week to see which one won my heart.

  1. I’ve never tried evenweave, it looks so pretty! Your stitches look great, I would never know you made a boo-boo on the bird. The last couple years I had a lot of trouble seeing anything smaller than 14-count. Since my cataract surgery I need to try the 28-count again. Simba is so cute.”Kitty hammock” – lol! – my kitties do the same thing!
