I have been pondering since Friday what I would like to get done this month. I have quite a few things on my quarter one list and definitely need to work on them. So I pulled out the list to see what would be my focus of something that has been out there for a long time.
Tutorial on making place mats
It was exciting to finish up my Christmas place mats, napkins, and table runner this past weekend. I am trying to use up all my left over Christmas fabric so I have started some hot pads with mini dresdens on (#tinydresdenparty2019) They were fun to do but more challenging then the typical dresden being about half the size. Just an update on my projects I worked on this past weekend while in Salt Lake for my grandson Shaun’s hockey tournament. Most of the weekend was spent watching hockey but we did manage to go to Utah’s Natural History Museum. I so forgot how 11 year olds zoom through at light speed. Where I would have dwaddle for several hours, we were done in two hours.

It is time to set goals for the next three months with #FAL2019. My host is Capitola Quilter.
I have about 30 Works in Process and it was hard to narrow it down. Last year I would list 9 and then end up working on something not on my list. So typical me! Or start something new. I thought it wasn’t working so I didn’t participate 3rd or 4th quarter. Guess what? I finished even less. New strategy for 2019. List an even dozen of projects that catch my eye to finish. Of course I will be working on random things that aren’t targeted to be finished until later quarters but I figured what could it hurt? I got out my Quilter’s Planner. Made my list.

It’s been a while with life taking over my free time.
I started the 1920 Farmer’s Wife English Paper Piecing Sew-A-Long in August with at Gnome Angel and that has been both challenging and fun. Day 25 is here already in the #100days100blocks2018 challenge. As usual lots of traveling happening during the month, but I managed to keep up despite it all. I really wasn’t sure I would remember to post every day while on the road. But I did!

With my sewing room restored (at least its contents on premise), I am off and running again. Meanwhile, I joined a new BOM with Shabby Fabrics called A-door-nament. August is the first month and it uses metallic thread. I got through the fusible piece and the piecing easy peazy. I seem to be frozen in with indecision when it comes to top stitching. I have decided to go with their metallic thread. Metallic thread is a new area. This project has been sitting in this status on my sewing table for two weeks now.
Hard to believe that we are halfway through the year and it is time to set the next quarter goals. Made a list and checking it twice:
1. #100days100blocks2018 challenge: My goal this quarter is to stay current. It started July 7th and we are using the 100 Modern Quilt Blocks book by Tula Pink. Must post each day’s block on Instagram. This challenge finishes in October.

One more post for today. So much is going on and I have been crazy busy so I have been slacking with the posts.
My friend @craftyme2018 mentioned to me that she was going to participate in a new sewalong hosted by @gnomeangel on Instagram using Tula Pink’s book 100 modern blocks. I just couldn’t resist. Today is the first day so I have posted my first block after having to prepare this past week knowing full well that I would be gone for at least 10 days this month.
