It is time for this weeks update on my quilty projects. Here in San Jose we survived a very vicious storm. It has been two days since it passed through San Jose and people are still without power. I feel fortunate that I never lost power. Yesterday I drove through town what should have been a 15 minute drive that took me an hour due to lights out, streets blocked by down power lines and trees, and of course, crews trying to clean up the storm damage. I am counting my blessings and am glad that everyone is safe.

We have been back for almost two weeks, yet I don’t feel like I have any time to sew. I have been putting in a lot of hours at work. Meetings all day and my actual work at night and weekends. Every November seems to get like this. Just Crazy! When I get home, I am exhausted. There is no food in the house again. #sigh I currently am not seeing an end to this grueling pace. This is my first weekend home for a few weeks. Looking at my November and December schedules, it looks like I will be home more than not for once. Quilt Diary: October One Monthly Goal
I missed my September One Monthly Goal, so I am resetting that same goal for October. I will finish 4 Halloween placemats. I was defeated by my sewing machine last month. Of course if I had not waited til the last week to press forward, it would have been a non issue. I just need to finish free motion quilting and binding these cute placemats. Quilt Diary: SAL Update
Coming to you from Denver today. On the road for hockey with my grandson Shaun. We are in day 2 of this tournament. We have played so very physical teams and hard teams. We managed to squeak out a win 3 out of 3 games. Playoffs start this afternoon so I thought I would squeeze in a quick post between games since I didn’t post anything on Wednesday. And that would be because Sunday the washer died and I ended up running around all over town to get a new washer and dryer by Wednesday so we could finish washing clothes for hockey. Quilt Diary: A Year In Words-Autumn Finish for Quarter 3 FAL 2019
Woohoo! Finally wrapped up this project that has been in my sewing room for over a year. It felt good to hang it on the wall yesterday. I absolutely love the hanger I purchased from Ackfeld Manufacturing a month ago. I did not realized that the leaves were colored until I took it out of the package. So nice! My larger series, I usually buy one hanger for the series. I haven’t decided if I will continue using this hanger for the whole series. I originally bought the WELCOME hanger for this series but decided it was too many words. We shall see. For now, I am very pleased at the end result! Here are a few more photos of the final process this week.
