What Got Done This Week

It has been an amazingly productive week. I am very excited to share how my first week of the new year has gone.

  • Worked some more on Queen of Diamonds block 2-1. Just one more unit to add.
  • Finished Welcome Friends! (A Backyard Banner by Shabby Fabrics)
  • Worked on my leaders and enders project. I finished the current four blocks and started the next four.
  • I worked on cutting the cottage pieces for the 2024 Temperature Cottage quilt. This is a free pattern on Fat Quarter Shop’s website. I got enough cut out to finish the roofs of four cottages. I decided to use only one white backgrounds so I stopped by and picked up another 3 yards for the rest of the quilt so I can finish cutting out the rest of the roofs and trees. I love how the roofs turned out. I am loving the brown from Alison’s newest collection Chrysanthemum.
  • Finished assembling the center of the 2019 100 blocks 100 days (Gnome Angel) during Monday’s Zoom Quilt Day. It felt good.
  • Also finished assembling the center of Pat Sloan’s Childhood Memories quilt that I started in 2023. I even had time to cut the squares I will need to make the half square triangle border using the magic 8 method. I am excited about it.

Afterthoughts

I’m feeling pretty good about my productivity this week. I do need to sort through all my quilt tops – Ready to quilt vs Need borders. I currently have on quilt rack. I am feeling like I need a quilt ladder maybe for one of these categories. I will keep an eye out for something cute.

I also received my felt tiles I want to test out for a design wall. While I bought enough tiles for the whole wall, I figure I should just do a small section to start.

I am on a roll so I am trying to take advantage of the flow….. Happy Tuesday everyone!
