Quilting, Cross Stitch & Travel Adventures
Welcome back my stitchy friends! It has been crazy busy week as I have spent time indulging my inclination to learn. I just love to learn! I haven’t learned any new things about cross stitch this week, just enjoyed the process on making little “x”s.
I only had one new start this week. Starting is always the hardest thing for me. This is one of the reasons I have recently been starting projects that have been on my bucket list.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #171”Welcome back my Stitchy Friends! We have had lots of sunshine here in the Pacific Northwest. I am totally enjoying every moment. How about you? My evening stitching time has been abbreviated this week due to life. I missed one night altogether because I was finishing a book. 📖
I ended up with no new starts or finishes. Although I did spend a day going through all of my projects I had pulled for January to figure out what comes next. I have a total of 4 friendstitch projects from December. I have decided to start three of them this month. Two are quite small and can be finished fairly quickly. They may rollover to February.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #165”Welcome to 2026! I finished off December 31st trying to make it through my December goal list. Unfortunately, while I worked on EVERY project left, I did NOT make my goals. So I focused on my December WIPGO projects as that is the whole reason to have WIPGO projects. Total win there!
I thought about doing a post for 2025 ending / 2026 beginning WIPs but decided that instead I would create a page for it instead. You can visit the page anytime view the top menu. I did mention I was going to shake things up this year right?
Continue reading “Floss Friday #163”Hello Everyone! It has been a busy week here. I have been working on kitting and prepping all of my fall new starts. I have a crazy process.
First I decide on them. Next I pull threads. If it is a “purchased” kit, I check my floss inventory for used skeins. I update my Excel sheet (Floss Inventory) for number of skeins in the kit and my actual inventory numbers. This why if I have a little kit for something, I know where I can temporarily pull floss from if I need to or borrow until I order some online. I really like how it has been working these past couple of years.
Once that is done, I make sure I have fabric in the kit. Afterwards, I go to the sewing studio to prep the fabric (zigzag the edges). This has been done for all but one of my fall projects this week.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #157”Hello Everyone! I am finally home for a while. It feels so good to be home although I had a great time in NYC. If I find some time, I will do a travel post to cover everything I did in September & October. It has definitely been a very busy fall so far. I am looking forward to some extended time at home and to get back to my normal routine.
Unfortunately for all of you, this may be a bit longish. I will try and wrap up all of October since my post on October 3rd.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #155”It sure was a busy September. I was on the road a lot, so I missed quite a few Fridays. I had a great time at the Quilt Retreat at Zephyr Cove on Lake Tahoe. I shared a little more in the To Do Tuesday #156 post.
The latest trip took me to Redmond/Bend, Oregon for a long arm training with Gammill as well as a shop hop one day. Learned a lot and met a lot of great people. The teachers were fantastic! I can’t wait until next year to do it again when I have more experience with my retrofited Statler.
First Friday of September! Welcome Fall. We are still having warm weather but with a few showers to help break things up. I am sure in 4 months I will be complaining. For now, welcoming the change. It has been a pretty good week so let’s take a look.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #153”Hello from Steaming Pacific Northwest. We are having another mini heat wave here with it supposed to reach 102F (39C). Lucky for us it is only for a couple of days with over 100, then it cools off for the rest of the week in the 90s. Oh yea!
I have continued to diligently work my active wips for the month. Let me share my progress with you.

Continue reading “Floss Friday #151”Hello from the Pacific Northwest. After weeks of heat, we finally have a storm coming in. While it will cool things down a little, we will still have plenty of humidity to keep us toasty. I am definitely looking forward to it! I am ready to share what I worked on this week with you. Hello my stitchy friends! I am so enjoying the summer day we are having after a couple of days of rain. We have beautiful blue cloudless skies. It is just gorgeous here in the PNW. The weekend forecast is for the mid 90s in the next few days. Let’s take a look at my eye candy this week.
