QUILT DIARY: Under the Needle in February 2021

Same as in January, I have focused mostly on my free motion quilting and have really neglected my other sewing projects. You throw in a trip to Florida the last week of February and I really shut down my own progress. #sigh I apologize for the week late post.

QUILT DIARY: Under the needle for January 2021

How has your January been? Here in California we have had the strangest weather. You may recall that last week we had sunny days in the high 70’s. It began to rain on Friday and hasn’t stopped. We had temperatures drop below freezing over the weekend. Crazy indeed!

QUILT DIARY: What’s Under My Needle in December

I’ve been in the office and on the road a lot more this month than I thought I would. I did manage to still get a few things done.

QUILT DIARY: What’s Under my needle in November

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is Thanksgiving and next week will be December. Where has the time gone? We just went back to tighter covid regulations including a curfew statewide in California of 10pm. If you are out after that you need a note.

Quilt Diary: June Goals and Update

I started a blog two months ago and never published it.  I apologize for my inconsistency these past few months.  I will try and close the gap and not make this too long of a blog.  I have been busy with my projects as well as work and home.

Quilt Diary: Challenges and Sew-A-Longs April Update

As you saw last post, I have a ton of projects.  I thought I would take this post to update you on everything that did NOT make the Finish-A-Long list.  Those are challenges or projects that are more than three months long. Continue reading “Quilt Diary: Challenges and Sew-A-Longs April Update”

Quilt Diary: 2020 Quarter 2 Finish-Along

Well this past week found me finishing up a bunch of items for the end of Quarter 1.  I wrapped up both Blooming Pumpkins and the Halloween wall hangings as well as finishing up the blue pinwheel potholders.  That put me at 11 finished projects for Quarter one.  Definitely one of my best quarters with a full size quilt as well as many small projects completed! Quilt Diary: Finish-A-Long 2020 Quarter 1 List

My 2020 first quarter goals for Finish-A-Long

We are starting this post making my list for first quarter.  I already posted on Instagram (@quiltadventures) on Friday night.  Some of these have been on the list for a while.  For the old ones, I added them to my All People Quilt Resolution 2020.  I will tag those items as I go.  Because it is so random drawing for the #APQResolution2020, I included all of them in my quarterly goals just in case! Quilt Diary: Jack ‘O Lantern Wooly Mug Rugs Finish!

It is an overcast day here in San Jose, CA.  I was thinking about whether to take my computer to Starbucks and realized that it has been two weeks already since the last time I posted anything.  So the laptop was grabbed on the way out the door along with the cookie making shopping list. Quilt Diary: First finish of Quarter 4 – Holiday Tablecloths & Turkey Wooly Mug Rugs

It is so hard to believe that it has already been two weeks since I last posted.  I guess with the Thanksgiving holiday it only sped up the days!  I finished both reversible tablecloths in time to take to Canada.  I was very stoked to actually finish in a timely manner!  For me, being reversible was very challenging.  I had thought that the same design on both sides would make it easier.  I never could get them lined up exactly right which was very apparent when I was semi-stitching in the ditch.  Because I used a “matching” thread, it was only noticeable to myself, the maker.  I have decided that if I do a reversible anything again to do an all over quilting versus following my “block” pattern.  What a wonderful problem to have, right?
