I have been a little late all week. Off my game for sure. But it has been a super productive week in my crafting world. 😝 I think I am finally recovered from the Reno trip just in time for my trip to Washington State. Let’s take a look at what cross stitch I worked on this past week.
I had one start and three finishes this week. It felt so good to check off so many of my finish projects off the list. Let’s check them out!
Continue reading “Floss Friday #96”It has been a busy week at the Reno Quilt Show but we still managed to get some stitching in as we settled down for the night. Not as much as normal, but still a decent amount. We finished our classes yesterday and walked the show floor in just a couple of hours. That turned out to be a good thing since we only had a couple of hours. 😂.
Thursday night we drove over to Gardnerville to stay at a friend’s house and to hit our favorite quilt store – Quilt House. As usual, it was productive and fabric that we haven’t been able to find was found. We will be heading home today. But before we do that: Let’s take a look at this week’s projects.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #95”Hello Everyone! The weather here is San Jose is slightly less sweltering than the last two days. Thank goodness it has at least gotten down to 70 every night. It is very rough when it doesn’t cool down even after the sun has gone down. Next week I will be heading out to Reno for the Reno Quilt Festival and visiting with friends. We haven’t decided whether we are coming home next Friday or Saturday. It is possible I might miss next Friday’s post.

Continue reading “Floss Friday #92”Happy Mother’s Day to everyone. I am headed to Seattle (via train) to spend the weekend with my daughter and her In-Laws who are here from Germany. I decided on potholders as gifts for Jannes’ family, so I am furiously sewing. LOL!
It has been a pretty productive stitching week even though most nights were just a couple of hours. I think it is because I only worked on aida projects this week. I am always faster with aida and of course lower count. But several of my projects were 18 count.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #90”Hi Everyone! It has been a crazy week like usual. I keep waiting for a boring week and it just never comes. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Who knows. It is just life. I really wouldn’t change a thing!
As you all know, I was in Seattle last weekend. I got to see my brother Scott. We were trying to pinpoint the last time we SAW each other and we think it was the summer of 2022. Meanwhile, we do talk often as well as having several group chats with different members of the family. I just love how connected we stay. Oh and he is great at enabling me with my interests. He was fascinated with my current class – Immersion 2024 which is a surface pattern design class using Adobe Illustrator.

Continue reading “Floss Friday #86”Welcome to this week’s edition of Floss Friday where I share my cross stitch projects. Before we get started I just wanted to share:
It’s been another busy week. Last weekend was a rollercoaster emotionally. I don’t know if you remember, but I went to Irvine, CA for California Hockey States for my grandson Shaun. The boys lost their first two games by one goal and were so heart broken. As playoffs can be, the unexpected happened. All six teams had lost at least one game on Friday so we were still in the running. I did the math and if we won by a large margin on Saturday morning we could make the semis. They did!!!! They even won the Semis!!!! Sunday morning found us playing in the 16UAA Championship game. It was tied for the first two periods 1-1. With 10 minutes left, the wheels fell off the bus. Shaun went to the penalty box and the other team scored. Another penalty and the other team was up 3-1. The boys were devastated but kept at it. We pulled our goalie and the other team scored 2 empty net goals. Despite the 5-1 final score, the game was super close and I am very proud of my grandson Shaun and his team. What an accomplishment to finish the season 2nd out of 30+ teams. Great job boys.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #83”It has been a buys week with lots of travel. I managed to watch Shaun via streaming while he was in LA and I was in Seattle. I got to spend quality time with my daughter. We had afternoon tea, shopping, and hiking as well as great food. One night we had Dim Sum and another seafood. She made homemade pasta another night. Yummy! Let’s take a look at what I did work on this week.
