Floss Friday #94

Hello Everyone! The weather here is San Jose is slightly less sweltering than the last two days. Thank goodness it has at least gotten down to 70 every night. It is very rough when it doesn’t cool down even after the sun has gone down. Next week I will be heading out to Reno for the Reno Quilt Festival and visiting with friends. We haven’t decided whether we are coming home next Friday or Saturday. It is possible I might miss next Friday’s post.

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone. I am headed to Seattle (via train) to spend the weekend with my daughter and her In-Laws who are here from Germany. I decided on potholders as gifts for Jannes’ family, so I am furiously sewing. LOL!

It has been a pretty productive stitching week even though most nights were just a couple of hours. I think it is because I only worked on aida projects this week. I am always faster with aida and of course lower count. But several of my projects were 18 count.

Happy Friday! It is a relief to have tax day behind us here in the US. Of course, being retired my return is pretty straight forward but it is still a pain in the ###. I would much rather think about all the fun things I could be doing instead! So let’s talk cross stitch today on this gorgeous spring day in San Jose.

I worked on one of my WIPGO projects this week – Year of Celebration Season 2 with one finish and one start as well as one other new start.

Floss Friday #82

Hello from Irvine in Southern California. We are here this weekend for States Hockey Tournament. Sadly we lost our first game. We have another tonight. 🤞

Yesterday was spent driving from Nor Cal to So Cal. I also stopped and visited one of my study group member’s from my Immersion group. Had a blast visiting her store – Phoebe Peacock. It is a combination of vintage, scent bar, tea, and spa. Loved it!

I had one start & one finish for the week although the finish isn’t a real finish, it’s this month’s stitches.

The sun is shining and it is going to be an absolutely beautiful day! I will make sure to enjoy it before the next storm system. I did end up with a brief power outage of like 15 minutes on Wednesday, so not too bad compared to others in this area.

I got back last night from Gardnerville, NV. Never thought I would be the one thinking that Nevada was beautiful. The valley is just gorgeous surronded by mountains. I had blue skies coming and going. Yesterday had a lot of snow from the day before, but still a gorgeous day. Let’s jump into this week’s progress.

Just a few days left in 2023. Can you believe it?! The year has flown by and I am wondering how that happened. Yesterday was a planning day with my sister Dorothy. Ya’ll all know how much I love to plan!

This week has been with my grandson’s hockey tournament. It was nice it was local. They play in the Championship game tomorrow..🤞

Floss Friday #70

Hello from Whistler, British Columbia! We got here a few days ago. The kids have gone skiing even though it is raining here at the base. The temperature is hovering around freezing which hopefully translates to great snow up top. We had homemade pasta with veggies yesterday for dinner.

The kids didn’t ski much yesterday but ended up working on a 1000 piece puzzle which they finished!
