Floss Friday #126

It feels like only yesterday that I was sharing what I have been up to this week on all my Cross Stitch projects. In reality, it has been a week! Whoa! What a busy week it has been. We are having unseasonably warm sunny weather here in Northern California. I am enjoying it while I can.

January Goals

I thought I would recap my monthly cross stitch start and finish goals here. I normally try to keep this number down, but January got out of control. šŸæļøšŸ¤Ŗ

Hope all my stitchy friends are safe and sound from the winter storms and the wildfires. Crazy winter we are having. Everyone is safe and sound here in San Jose, California. Today feels like a spring day with the temperature at 67F. I am enjoying it while I can.

Itā€™s been a great stitchy week and I am looking forward to sharing my progress with you. Still need to kit up my planned starts but otherwise, everything is great.

2024 WIP Parade

I am taking a moment to make this special post for all my cross stitch WIPs at December 31, 2024. While I would love to do this with my quilty projects, with over a 100 WIPs that is just not possible for this year anyway. Maybe next year.

January 2024 I started with 17 WIPs. I had the following starts:

Hope Everyone had an awesome Christmas Holiday (and any other holiday you celebrate at this time of year.)

December 26th was a very rainy day to contrast with today where we have sunshine. The joy of being in California!

I seem to still being have some focus issues this week. I have been reading a whole bunch and being distracted from stitching or quilting. šŸ“š All is good, I am planning a New Yearā€™s Stitch-A-Thon to work on any WIPS that are on my goals list but might have been slighted during the month of December. šŸ§‘ā€šŸŽ„

Floss Friday #122

As with my quilting, I struggled to work on projects at Caitlinā€™s house. I was thinking since she now lives in a house instead of an apartment, that lighting would be better. Unfortunately for her, there is practically zero overhead lighting and I wasnā€™t prepared. Instead of stitching, I was doing.

I shared a lot of the things I did while in Vancouver and all the good food I had in my last post.

There are lots of photos. If you donā€™t feel like reading, take a peek at the eye candy.

Floss Friday #108

How fast this week went. I had a great time in the Redding area. I found a quilt shop and visited Lassen Volcanic National Park. I even got in a 3 mile hike while I was at Lassen.

Floss Friday #107

Happy Friday! How is your first Friday in September shaping up? It is going to be another hot one here in San Jose, California. We have a nice little breeze which is helping cool it off a tad. It is still 90+ but should be breaking the current heat wave this weekend. Just in time for me to head to Redding on Monday into 90+ weather again. LOL! I am looking forward to this quick little jaunt north. Plan on going to Lassen National Park one day at least. Breakfast and dinner will be with my daughter Caitlin who is going to be working in Redding on a project for work all week. It will be good to see her.

The writer describes a week of pleasant weather, their return to routine after a trip, and plans to visit Santa Barbara. They reflect on childhood beach birthday parties and recent erosion at Seacliff. The week included various cross-stitch projects, garden-fresh tomatoes from a neighbor, and a family birthday BBQ. Upcoming plans involve more stitching and group activities.

Another week of fairly good weather. A little hazy from the wildfires north of me but otherwise nice. It started heating up again yesterday, but otherwise it has been a gorgeous summer week in Northern California. I am almost back in my normal routine after being gone for 3 weeks in July. I was thinking of going to Santa Barbara for a treat. If I do, I think it will be just for a couple of days.

Today my daughter turned 30! It just seems like yesterday when she came barreling into our life. She has always had a strong independent nature that has thankfully been channelled into a productive lifestyle. Happy Birthday Caitlin. I love you.
