Quilting, Cross Stitch & Travel Adventures
Hope all my stitchy friends are safe and sound from the winter storms and the wildfires. Crazy winter we are having. Everyone is safe and sound here in San Jose, California. Today feels like a spring day with the temperature at 67F. I am enjoying it while I can.
It’s been a great stitchy week and I am looking forward to sharing my progress with you. Still need to kit up my planned starts but otherwise, everything is great.

December 26th was a very rainy day to contrast with today where we have sunshine. The joy of being in California!
I seem to still being have some focus issues this week. I have been reading a whole bunch and being distracted from stitching or quilting. 📚 All is good, I am planning a New Year’s Stitch-A-Thon to work on any WIPS that are on my goals list but might have been slighted during the month of December. 🧑🎄
Continue reading “Floss Friday #123”As with my quilting, I struggled to work on projects at Caitlin’s house. I was thinking since she now lives in a house instead of an apartment, that lighting would be better. Unfortunately for her, there is practically zero overhead lighting and I wasn’t prepared. Instead of stitching, I was doing.
I shared a lot of the things I did while in Vancouver and all the good food I had in my last post.

No new finishes this week but I did get started on two more from the planned 9 starts for this month.
Last Friday of October already. Honestly this week has felt like the last week of October but I still have 7 more days of October! How exciting. The November WIPGO projects are out and we will take a peek. By default, that means we know the December projects as well. I have chosen not to go there. I am excited about winding down October and starting on November. Let’s get started!
The goal each month is to work on the project at least five times or have a finish.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #114”The heat wave that started on Monday peaked on Wednesday but is still with us through the weeked. Welcome Autumn! I expect next week I will be complaining about being cold. 😝 Hopefully you all are enjoying your October. Can you believe it is here already!?
It has been a fairly productive and fun week. Yesterday I received happy mail from 123 Stitch so I spent the afternoon kitting up the next in two series I am working on: Santa’s House (Fabulous House Series) and Winter Baskets (Triple Play Pillows series). I finished so many projects in September that I had a pile of floss that had to inventoried and put away. It sure felt good to complete that task!

This week I was able to finish TWO projects! So exciting.
I had a great stitchy week. Worked on mastering Mark R-XP app. I am loving it when everything goes smoothly, but not so much when it doesn’t. LOL. Typical me. I have definitely had fun playing with this app. I was surprised how inspiring it is to know you only have 4 green stitches left or that you are 78% done. Very cool. Let’s take a look at what I worked on this past week and what I hope to work on this coming week.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #109”Happy Friday! How is your first Friday in September shaping up? It is going to be another hot one here in San Jose, California. We have a nice little breeze which is helping cool it off a tad. It is still 90+ but should be breaking the current heat wave this weekend. Just in time for me to head to Redding on Monday into 90+ weather again. LOL! I am looking forward to this quick little jaunt north. Plan on going to Lassen National Park one day at least. Breakfast and dinner will be with my daughter Caitlin who is going to be working in Redding on a project for work all week. It will be good to see her.
