Quilt Diary: 2020 Quarter 2 Finish-Along

Well this past week found me finishing up a bunch of items for the end of Quarter 1.  I wrapped up both Blooming Pumpkins and the Halloween wall hangings as well as finishing up the blue pinwheel potholders.  That put me at 11 finished projects for Quarter one.  Definitely one of my best quarters with a full size quilt as well as many small projects completed! Quilt Diary: Welcome to April and another month of COVID-19

I don’t know about all of you, I am so tired of this virus running my life.  It is throwing our economy into chaos and spinning us into a recession.  Lucky for me, I have a fabric stash that should carry me through.  How about you? Continue reading “Quilt Diary: Welcome to April and another month of COVID-19”

Quilt Diary: January 2020 Wrap Up

As I begin this blog it is Saturday morning, February 1st.  On our way to tutoring (and Starbucks), I realized I haven’t posted for awhile.  I’m torn between giving a rundown on everything or sticking to one area.  When I do the rundowns, they are such a long post.  I keep meaning to have more posts but shorter.  #sigh So far that has been a pipe dream.  As the title suggests, I have decided to do the rundown on what I have done the past two weeks.  Hopefully, this post will not go on and on. Quilt Diary: Finish-A-Long 2020 Quarter 1 List

My 2020 first quarter goals for Finish-A-Long

We are starting this post making my list for first quarter.  I already posted on Instagram (@quiltadventures) on Friday night.  Some of these have been on the list for a while.  For the old ones, I added them to my All People Quilt Resolution 2020.  I will tag those items as I go.  Because it is so random drawing for the #APQResolution2020, I included all of them in my quarterly goals just in case! Quilt Diary: New Year’s Resolutions-Self Care

Holidays were full of family, friends, celebrations, and hockey.  As for most of you, there was not a lot of time to sew in the past two weeks.  I am sure no one is surprised.  Just got home tonight from a hockey weekend in Anaheim.  I really thought I would have plenty of time to write my blog and get started on some of my new projects.  (lol – such an optimist). Where to start?  Continue reading “Quilt Diary: New Year’s Resolutions-Self Care”

Quilt Diary: November Project Update

We have been back for almost two weeks, yet I don’t feel like I have any time to sew.  I have been putting in a lot of hours at work.  Meetings all day and my actual work at night and weekends.  Every November seems to get like this.  Just Crazy!  When I get home, I am exhausted.  There is no food in the house again.  #sigh  I currently am not seeing an end to this grueling pace.  I will get a break next week when we head to Halifax for American Thanksgiving.  That will be nice. Quilt Diary: October One Monthly Goal

I missed my September One Monthly Goal, so I am resetting that same goal for October.  I will finish 4 Halloween placemats.  I was defeated by my sewing machine last month.  Of course if I had not waited til the last week to press forward, it would have been a non issue.  I just need to finish free motion quilting and binding these cute placemats. I am linking up with Patty at Elm Street Quilts.  Quilting these 4 placemats are this week’s #onethingwithAmy goal as well.

Quilt Diary: Schoolhouse Mug Rug Finish

Coming to you from Starbucks Reserve in Cupertino at 6am.  Yes – hockey.  It’s been a busy week.  I would love to say all the busy was quilting but my day job and my night job keep getting in the way.  LOL! Continue reading “Quilt Diary: Schoolhouse Mug Rug Finish”

Quilt Diary: SAL Update

Coming to you from Denver today.  On the road for hockey with my grandson Shaun.  We are in day 2 of this tournament.  We have played so very physical teams and hard teams.  We managed to squeak out a win 3 out of 3 games.  Playoffs start this afternoon so I thought I would squeeze in a quick post between games since I didn’t post anything on Wednesday.  And that would be because Sunday the washer died and I ended up running around all over town to get a new washer and dryer by Wednesday so we could finish washing clothes for hockey.  Very little sewing really happened at the sewing machine.
