Floss Friday #23

It’s been a typical week. We’ve had lots of hockey practice and running around like chicken’s with our heads cut off but I still managed to have some time to stitch. I’ve even checked off almost everything on my list this week. Only thing left was a Final Finish….

Starts & Finishes

Only one of these counts as a new WIP but I finished it so we are even for the month so far.

Prim Stitch #9 by Lori Holt Start
Prim Sttch #9 start

I have no idea how so much time went by since I finished chart #8. It has been several months. I got a great start on Chart 9 though. Some significant progress.

I just love stitching this series. It feels so good to start and finish in a couple of days. This one was very cute with the acorns don’t you think.

Final Finishes

None this week.

Works in Progress

I was able to work on some oldies but goodies this month. I don’t like putting the series ones away until I finish the current “project” I am working on, but the one offs I am okay with putting away until the next season.

August Cottage of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
August Cottage of the Month Center done

I was pleased with finishing the cottage and trees. I hope to finish soon.

Oracle Quaker Halloween SAL by Oracle Facebook Group

I got release 3 done as I hoped so now I have put away until next year.

Summer Baskets #1 by Hands on Designs
Summer Basket #1 is ready for blue next

I have no idea why this design is taking me forever. It isn’t even hard. I never get as many stitches in as I think I will when I work on it. BUT I finally got most of the red done now. I think I am going to work on the stars next.

Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
Working on the April chart

I have no idea why I haven’t worked on this one. My plan this year was to do one thread a night but that hasn’t not happened. I was happy to get in some serious stitching time on it on Wednesday after finishing the 9 Patch stitch. The section I am working on right now felt like it was going fast. Still working on the April chart, but that is okay. I just want to enjoy this one as I go.

Bats & Boos Mystery SAL 2021 by Fat Quarter Shop

I’m very excited to think I might actually finish this one in November. I have just two borders left so it is not going anywhere until it is all done!

Upcoming

Thursday I spent some time putting together the Dec 9 Patch and a brand new stitch called Christmas Tiny Town by Heart in Hand. I have been so fascinated by the Tiny Town series and am excited to be starting it. I was even happier to discover I had all the thread except for 3 skeins on hand. The pattern has 13 different threads between CCW and WDW.

Meanwhile, I still have several weeks of November to go. I have November Barn Sweet Barn and November Truckin Along still to start. We leave to go out of town today (Friday) and will get home Sunday night then I am in Seattle for Thanksgiving. I already decided that I would be taking Nov Truckin Along to Seattle and I will be taking Barn Sweet Barn to Vacaville.

  • Let`s Talk Autumn hoop (ffo)
  • Nov Barn Sweet Barn (start &finish)
  • June Sampler – Border 1
  • August Cottage – Top Border
  • May Calendar Crate – Farmhouse sign
  • Start Nov Truckin Along

I have in the back of my head to finish Bats & Boos, Barn Sweet Barn Nov, and maybe August Cottage and/or Summer Baskets by end of November. Wish me luck!!!!

  1. Simba looks so content on the placemats. 🙂 I love the cottage and trees, but I love all your projects. The tiny town series really is tiny, but oh so cute. When will the hockey travel end? Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Assuming the boys make States this year (which seems highly likely), hockey won’t end until mid-March. It is a very long season (Aug-Mar). Normally we do Spring Hockey, but this year has been so intense that Shaun is going to take it off and play high school lacrosse instead which will give me an opportunity to maybe do some other travel. I am excited to be finishing up the cottage tonight (after I get off the computer) I have the top border left and I just love how it looks. There are only two more cottages in the series (April & October) left to do. Then I have to figure out how to finish them.
