Floss Friday #196

Hello my Stitchy Friends! It has been another crazy busy week! Home only for a few days before heading off for my next trip. Just one more after this one and one class then I can settle into a nice rhythm for a month or two. (LOL!) 😂

New Starts & Finishes

No new starts but I do have one finish.

FINISH: JUNE WIPGO: October Square Dance by Heart in Hand

I took this project to Paducah with me and was able to finally wrap it up. This June WIPGO project has two more parts to finish so 33% done. This project is being stitched as one large piece on 16 ct french country mocha aida with the called for floss (DMC, Weeks Dye Works, Classic Colorworks, & Gentle Arts).

WIP Updates

I did not work on a lot of different projects this week but still made a nice dent on those that I did work on. Because of travel I had several down days (no stitching). I prefer to do english paper piecing on travel days. It is less complicated to work on and it doesn’t require great lighting.

SEP WIPGO #24: Home Grown by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)

It doesn’t look like I did much since last timebut I actually did. I filled in ALL the dark brown center and continue working on the light brown “lines”. I want to finish all the lines before I start outlining all the leaves. This project will be following me to the quilt retreat. I am not expecting a lot of time, but, just in case….

SEP WIPGO #25: November Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives

Slowly filling in the house scene and the signage. I always love working on Stitching with the Housewives. They do such a great job with just a few colors. This project will be going to the quilt retreat too!

Pumpkin Pals: A Fat Quarter Shop Stitch Quarterly Project

I joined in with Chantelle from 141 Design Company for her Zoom Stitching this week. I surprised myself with finishing almost 700 stitches for the evening. Working on 14 ct aida is so much faster than anything else. I worked on the pile of pumpkins that will eventually be in a wheelbarrow. I never thought of using browns for pumpkins but it looks pretty good.

I also learned about Dot Dot Goose’s Discord Stitching group. Denise from Dot Dot Goose and her friend Speedy Sue joined the Zoom Stitching group. They have challenges etc each month as well as show and tell. Sounded cool. They got me signed up. Haven’t really had time to check it out.

Plans & Reflections

I had some happy mail but I just don’t have time to take photos and share with all of you this week. That will just give us something to talk about next time. Although, I did place some orders for fabric for Harvest Tiny Town and Passing Through (Halloween stitch). I have all the floss for both and so I ordered fabric today as well as everything for Comfort & Joy Ornament Collection which starts in October.
