Quilt Diary: April OMG

It is that time to set my April one monthly goal with Elm Street Quilts.  It is to cut, piece, and quilt a baby rag quilt for my co-worker who will be going out on maternity leave 6 weeks early.  No time to mess around she is leaving before the end of April.  Luckily, I have been playing around with it since January so have already decided on the pattern (for the front) and bought the fabric.  I still have to figure out the back before cutting it.  this will be the hard part.

Quilt Diary: March 12 Update on quarter goals

Hello!

The weekend went semi how I hoped.  I did get a lot of hockey in.  Way more than I anticipated which cut into my quilt time.  But I was able to update my Quilt-A-Long and Sew-A-Long list and feel like I know what I need to do and even get semi caught up.   Continue reading “Quilt Diary: March 12 Update on quarter goals”

Quilting Diary: February Monthly Goal Reached!

Hello Fellow Quilting Adventurers!

I can’t believe that 3 weeks have slipped by. February was a mad rush with many long work days and mid month hockey tournament in Phoenix with the grandson. Needless to say the quilting took a back seat but I am in seventh heaven to realize that I finished my first quilt of 2018! I wrapped up the quilting and binding of my brother’s quilt. I ended up naming it Two BeJeweled. Many things go into that name. The pattern is the Two Step pattern presented by Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company. This is another one of those instances where I was watching the you tube video and decided I wanted to try the pattern. Looked into my stash and Viola! The top laid around the house for months because it was a spur of the moment quilt top with no receiptent or use in mind. (That happens to me a lot). Unlike many of my projects though, I only did it in 2017. I have one in my closet that is from 2008. When I moved, I lost the backing and border fabrics so I keep it in my closet in hopes of uncovering the missing fabric. Continue reading “Quilting Diary: February Monthly Goal Reached!”

Quilting Diary: February Monthly Goal

Sadly my fellow adventurers I did not finish my January goal. I was so very close. I definitely was thinking way to big. I managed to add borders, piece the back, baste, and quilt the borders and part of the blocks, but didn’t get finished as I hoped. So for February, it will be finishing my brother’s quilt. I need to finish quilting, labelling, and binding. That will be my February Goal www.elmstreetquilts.com at February One Monthly Goal http://www.elmstreetquilts.com/2018/02/one-monthly-goal-february-goal-setting.html .
