Welcome back my quilty friends! I was not sure if I would be sharing today as I did not expect to have any quilting time. I went to a cross stitch retreat and got back Sunday. Ended up my guild had a special Sit n Sew Zoom on Labor Day. I spent the whole day in my studio!

WIP Update
I worked on a ton of projects yesterday but did not do any of my hand sewing projects. Let’s take a look!
September Monthly Color Challenge block by Patterns by Jen
I jumped on the block of the month early. We had a choice of white/gray or brown/tan. Alison doesn’t do a lot of browns so I went with the gray block instead. I love how it turned out!
Teal Freelancer Wedge Star Quilt by Studio 180 Designs
I have to make a total of four mixed star wedge blocks. I finished one last time. I had all the units done so it was just a matter of trimming (as you go) and sewing it all together. I finished three today which means I now have all four done as well as the center block.
These blocks are made with batiks and measure 9 inches when finished. This small wall hanging will have a total of 9 blocks. I have now completed 5 – the center star wedge block and all 4 mixed star wedge blocks. Just need to complete the last 4 wedge blocks.
Starbright Paisleys Strip Club pattern by Cozy Quilt Designs
This is my current leaders and enders project. I am currently making the four patch and then adding the second round of units. I finished eight more yesterday. I have to make a total of 48. I am not sure how many I have completed to date. There will be one more round to add to the above unit. That round is way more involved with a lot stitch and flip involved. For once, I am just doing each of these two steps.
Monthly Guild Block Raffle
For the month of September the guild is doing a block using the Moda Blockheads 6 – Crossroads. I meant to participate last month and never got organized. They do not give us much time. The challenge comes out in the newsletter on the first of the month and we have to have them ready by the second Thursday of the month. I have made one.
I cut two and then realized I would have left over center triangles so I am attempting to make a total of to share. I figured this would be a great way to get rid of all that green fabric I am not partial to.
My second block is ready to stitch!

Happy Mail
This week my daughter brought home one quilt kit and one quilt pattern for me for watching the cats for her. She did ask if I could make er the Northern Nights quilt too! 😂. Of course, I said sure. (I didn’t promise WHEN it would be done.)
I also received a quilt kit from McKenna Ryan – Making Spirits Bright – which included embellishments which was nice. More quilt labels from Sweetwater Company. Month 5 of Super Nova english paper piecing project arrived. I am still working on month 1. 🐿️
Now that I have an embroidery machine, I did sign up for the OESD Spree Club. I am not sure how long I will stay signed up but for now…
Musings
One of my friends share this in our quilt group. Now isn’t that the truth. I have way more fabric than I will ever be able to use, yet I seem to never to have the right fabric. LOL!
Well I am tired so we will wrap this up for this week. I am headed to Paducah, KY to visit the National Quilt Museum before the Tula Pink exhibit is gone (September 15th). There is also two other cool exhibits going on and I am looking forwarded to heading there on Friday (except for the 90+F, 95%humidity, and raining part).
