Floss Friday #93

Can you believe today is the last day of May? Tomorrow is June! #wow This week has been full of graduations including my grandson’s girlfriend. The two of them have been running from graduation to graduation all week. Tis the season. It is hard to believe he is only 16 but next year he will be graduating himself (dating older women LOL).

Summer is around the corner. It has been hot this week but not nearly as hot as next week will be. We will be having our first heatwave of the season. That’s always when you find out the AC is broken right? 😂

Welcome to this week’s edition of Floss Friday where I share what cross stitch projects I have been working on this week. If you follow me at all, you know that I just got back on Wednesday from taking the train to and from Seattle to visit my daughter. I tried to stitch on the train, but I got motion sick. I did do a little on the way to Seattle, but I did english paper piecing on the way home.

Let’s take a look at this weeks projects.

Starts & Finishes

Not a lot of action in this category but I did manage to work in one new start.

Happy Friday Everyone! We have a gorgeous bluebird day today with predictions of rain tomorrow. Don’t you love Spring? Sunny and warm one minute; cold and rainy the next.

Starts & Finishes

I did not realize until I was checking my stitching calendar that I had one finish and one start.

FINISH: Let’s Talk Spring by Hands on Design

Whew! Finding these photos was a chore. A few years ago I didn’t do a good job labelling my photos. I wanted to show how I have finished this Let’s Talk Series when I finished the framed chart in April. I look forward to finishing all of these! I love these colors!

Happy Friday! After a blazing hot weekend, starting Tuesday we went from 80F to 65F. They are saying it should be a dry weekend though. I had heard on the news that we have not had back to back dry weekends since October. That seems so crazy when just a couple of years ago we were in a severe drought. I am thankful that this winter was wet but we were not drowned. Love living in Northern California.

Now to jump into sharing this last week’s stitchy projects I worked on.

Starts & Finishes

I didn’t have any new starts this week but I did have two new finishes.

Happy Friday! It is a relief to have tax day behind us here in the US. Of course, being retired my return is pretty straight forward but it is still a pain in the ###. I would much rather think about all the fun things I could be doing instead! So let’s talk cross stitch today on this gorgeous spring day in San Jose.

Starts & Finishes

I worked on one of my WIPGO projects this week – Year of Celebration Season 2 with one finish and one start as well as one other new start.

Hello Everyone! Friday was a travel day and while I meant to write this post on Thursday, it is now Saturday. LOL! I am in Seattle. I had dinner with my daughter last night and breakfast with my brother this morning. Now I am hanging out at the local Starbucks writing this post. It is only drizzling but the weather makes me want to curl up in front of a fire and read. LOL!

Floss Friday #83

Welcome to this week’s edition of Floss Friday where I share my cross stitch projects. Before we get started I just wanted to share:

It’s been another busy week. Last weekend was a rollercoaster emotionally. I don’t know if you remember, but I went to Irvine, CA for California Hockey States for my grandson Shaun. The boys lost their first two games by one goal and were so heart broken. As playoffs can be, the unexpected happened. All six teams had lost at least one game on Friday so we were still in the running. I did the math and if we won by a large margin on Saturday morning we could make the semis. They did!!!! They even won the Semis!!!! Sunday morning found us playing in the 16UAA Championship game. It was tied for the first two periods 1-1. With 10 minutes left, the wheels fell off the bus. Shaun went to the penalty box and the other team scored. Another penalty and the other team was up 3-1. The boys were devastated but kept at it. We pulled our goalie and the other team scored 2 empty net goals. Despite the 5-1 final score, the game was super close and I am very proud of my grandson Shaun and his team. What an accomplishment to finish the season 2nd out of 30+ teams. Great job boys.

Floss Friday #67

I had myself a mini marathon this past holiday weekend to work on all the projects I had not worked on. I only meant to work on those for the whole weekend, but couldn’t resist working on my fall projects. I had already put away Fall Harvest (see last week’s blog here to look at) and Autumn Beauties which somehow I haven’t worked on since October.

The good news is that they are the only two WIPs for fall being put on hold and next year I get to start new ones!

Floss Friday #66

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I am very grateful to have been able to spend the day with my sister Dorothy and her family. I dropped Shaun off at hockey camp. His mom helped the other parents prepare breakfast for the team and their families. It was a bonding moment for them. Then off to the family dinner at his Aunt Diane’s where his dad joined them. He said they had a great time. So happy for them.
