Floss Friday #89

Happy Friday Everyone! We have a gorgeous bluebird day today with predictions of rain tomorrow. Don’t you love Spring? Sunny and warm one minute; cold and rainy the next.

Starts & Finishes

I did not realize until I was checking my stitching calendar that I had one finish and one start.

FINISH: Let’s Talk Spring by Hands on Design

Whew! Finding these photos was a chore. A few years ago I didn’t do a good job labelling my photos. I wanted to show how I have finished this Let’s Talk Series when I finished the framed chart in April. I look forward to finishing all of these! I love these colors!

START: August Calendar Crates Mini by Stitching with the Housewives (WIPGO)

I was thrilled to start this new Calendar crates. The minis of this series are just so sweet. I thought I would be able to finish the mini in just two sittings, but no it didn’t happen. I am close though.

Wrap Up of April WIPGO Projects

My monthly WIPGO goal is to work on each project five times during the month.

Project 18: 2024 SJ Temperature Library by Kristi’s Corner

For this project, I did hit my five times but I wanted to finish up the April shelf so I found myself finishing up on May 1st. This month I finished March and April shelves as well as adding the year and all but the last two shelves. Feeling awesome about my progress.

Project 21: Year of Celebration Season 2 by Hands on Design

Started the month with January and February already completed. I finished up March and April which makes me current finally! I love working on these very cute monthly designs. Each design took two nights so I didn’t hit the five night goal but I did finish my overall goal.

WIP Updates

Only two projects are left to talk about that I worked on this week. Let’s take a look.

Blooming Tiny Town by Heart in Hand

First up is my current Tiny Town WIP – Blooming. This week I finished this sweet little green house with the adorable flowers on the roof. Great progress.

May Stackables by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)

For my April planned finishes, this was one of them. While I got close, I was not able to finish by monthend. This is going to be a priority for May. I like stitching the flowers because they are pretty uniform, but this bee was the highlight of my week. I love these CCW Really Teally wings.

Upcoming Plans & Thoughts

I began April with 23 WIPS. I had four new starts and five new finishes so I begin May with 22 WIPs. Not all of my WIPs are active each month. For May, I have only 13 active WIPs with plans to start 6 and finish 7. Oooh! If that happens, then my total WIPs should decrease. How exciting.

My oldest WIP is Snow Village which I started in September 2020. My next oldest WIP is Winter Camper followed by Christmas Calendar and Shabby Winter Calendar. All three of those designs were started December 2020. The only one I will be working on this month is Winter Camper as it is number was called in WIPGO.

Another interesting fact is that I have finished stitching 15 projects in 2024! Feeling pretty good. Now to switch to May planning mode.

This next week I will be home all week but the following week I will be gone 6 of the 7 days. With that in mind, I plan on working on:

  • Finishing Mini Aug Calendar Crates
  • Finishing May Stackables
  • 1 x with Fruit of Plenty
  • 1 x with Green House from Fabulous House series
  • 1x with The Clown from Snowman Collector series
  • Stitching Days 1-6 for May temperature shelf
  • Starting the main August Calendar Crates
  • working on WIPGO project Winter Camper

By working on these this week, that leaves me Let’s Talk Summer to take on my train trip to work on. Even if I finish the large chart, I still have the medium pillow chart to work on.

Happy Stitching Everyone!

  1. Your projects are just so interesting and pretty Peggy, I still love that temperature library! How amazing that you have finished 15 projects this year, that is quite an achievement. A train trip sounds like fun! I guess, I’ve never been on one. 😉
