Welcome back to my cross stitch blog! I was distracted this week with other crafty projects that you can check out here but still a good week. We have continued to have pretty nice weather for a February in the PNW. Starting this weekend we will be falling back into the normal February weather patterns – rain. So enjoying the last of the sunshine ☀️

Continue reading “Floss Friday #169”Welcome to 2026! I finished off December 31st trying to make it through my December goal list. Unfortunately, while I worked on EVERY project left, I did NOT make my goals. So I focused on my December WIPGO projects as that is the whole reason to have WIPGO projects. Total win there!
I thought about doing a post for 2025 ending / 2026 beginning WIPs but decided that instead I would create a page for it instead. You can visit the page anytime view the top menu. I did mention I was going to shake things up this year right?
Continue reading “Floss Friday #163”Hope all my American friends had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. Mine was awesome. Good company. Good food. I did have a bit of a food coma afterwards. Rained most of the day but since I never had to leave the house, it didn’t bother me much. Hope all of you had a great holiday!
Overall, this was a good stitching week. I even finished one of my WIPGO goals for November. With just 3 days left, I hope to finish my second goal. Let’s take a look at this week’s projects.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #159”Hello Everyone! It has been a busy week here. I have been working on kitting and prepping all of my fall new starts. I have a crazy process.
First I decide on them. Next I pull threads. If it is a “purchased” kit, I check my floss inventory for used skeins. I update my Excel sheet (Floss Inventory) for number of skeins in the kit and my actual inventory numbers. This why if I have a little kit for something, I know where I can temporarily pull floss from if I need to or borrow until I order some online. I really like how it has been working these past couple of years.
Once that is done, I make sure I have fabric in the kit. Afterwards, I go to the sewing studio to prep the fabric (zigzag the edges). This has been done for all but one of my fall projects this week.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #157”Wow! I got really hyper focused this week attempting to finish all of my Halloween WIPs. I normally would just work on night on something, but I really really wanted to wrap up these projects.
I considered doing this with my Fall WIPs. I don’t think I am close enough to finish any of them if I want to everything else on my list. Not sure if I will get my November goals posted as I still want to spend some time in the sewing studio today as well. So much to do and so little time (and I am retired!)
Continue reading “Floss Friday #156”Hello Everyone! I am finally home for a while. It feels so good to be home although I had a great time in NYC. If I find some time, I will do a travel post to cover everything I did in September & October. It has definitely been a very busy fall so far. I am looking forward to some extended time at home and to get back to my normal routine.
Unfortunately for all of you, this may be a bit longish. I will try and wrap up all of October since my post on October 3rd.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #155”It sure was a busy September. I was on the road a lot, so I missed quite a few Fridays. I had a great time at the Quilt Retreat at Zephyr Cove on Lake Tahoe. I shared a little more in the To Do Tuesday #156 post.
The latest trip took me to Redmond/Bend, Oregon for a long arm training with Gammill as well as a shop hop one day. Learned a lot and met a lot of great people. The teachers were fantastic! I can’t wait until next year to do it again when I have more experience with my retrofited Statler.
First Friday of September! Welcome Fall. We are still having warm weather but with a few showers to help break things up. I am sure in 4 months I will be complaining. For now, welcoming the change. It has been a pretty good week so let’s take a look.
Continue reading “Floss Friday #153”Hello from the Pacific Northwest. After weeks of heat, we finally have a storm coming in. While it will cool things down a little, we will still have plenty of humidity to keep us toasty. I am definitely looking forward to it! I am ready to share what I worked on this week with you. I only have one start this week and no finishes. But I did kit up one of my starts for next week. I am even considering having a “Start” Day just to work through my remaining starts. Let’s take a look at this week’s start.
Where did the week go?! It has been a busy and hot week here in Vancouver, Washington. Worked on quite a few projects this week and attended a Virtual Cross Stitch Retreat (my first).
I ended up having three finishes and one start this week. One of my finishes were unexpected and one start was unplanned but who can resist a new start?
