Welcome back! Not as many projects this week but some nice progress towards my goals.
After having days of overcast and windy, it is nice out today with a high of 77F. Very nice fall weather. Perfect Fall day. Guess that is why I am finding so much joy stitching autumn and halloween this month.
Welcome to another week of cross stitch. I have to write this post on Thursday because tomorrow is a Quilting Zoom Day and then I will be off to Monterey for the weekend. Things are going great and I am super happy with all my progress. I have things to do so let’s get started.
Starts & Finishes
One finish and one start this week. Is that awesome or what?!
The heat wave that started on Monday peaked on Wednesday but is still with us through the weeked. Welcome Autumn! I expect next week I will be complaining about being cold. 😝 Hopefully you all are enjoying your October. Can you believe it is here already!?
It has been a fairly productive and fun week. Yesterday I received happy mail from 123 Stitch so I spent the afternoon kitting up the next in two series I am working on: Santa’s House (Fabulous House Series) and Winter Baskets (Triple Play Pillows series). I finished so many projects in September that I had a pile of floss that had to inventoried and put away. It sure felt good to complete that task!
I had a great stitchy week. Worked on mastering Mark R-XP app. I am loving it when everything goes smoothly, but not so much when it doesn’t. LOL. Typical me. I have definitely had fun playing with this app. I was surprised how inspiring it is to know you only have 4 green stitches left or that you are 78% done. Very cool. Let’s take a look at what I worked on this past week and what I hope to work on this coming week.
The writer describes a week of pleasant weather, their return to routine after a trip, and plans to visit Santa Barbara. They reflect on childhood beach birthday parties and recent erosion at Seacliff. The week included various cross-stitch projects, garden-fresh tomatoes from a neighbor, and a family birthday BBQ. Upcoming plans involve more stitching and group activities.
Another week of fairly good weather. A little hazy from the wildfires north of me but otherwise nice. It started heating up again yesterday, but otherwise it has been a gorgeous summer week in Northern California. I am almost back in my normal routine after being gone for 3 weeks in July. I was thinking of going to Santa Barbara for a treat. If I do, I think it will be just for a couple of days.
Today my daughter turned 30! It just seems like yesterday when she came barreling into our life. She has always had a strong independent nature that has thankfully been channelled into a productive lifestyle. Happy Birthday Caitlin. I love you.
Welcome to this week’s edition of all things cross stitchy. I spent the last three days attending a virtual conference on my latest hobby of surface pattern design. It was fun but would have been more fun in person. Got some great new ideas and some encouragement that I am headed in the right direction. This surface pattern design journey reminds me of my quilting or cross stitch journey. So much information, so much enthusiasm, a so little courage to go for it. 😂
Moving on to what I worked on this week. I ended up taking last night off but I still worked on a number of projects this past week. Let’s check it out.
Hello Everyone! The weather here is San Jose is slightly less sweltering than the last two days. Thank goodness it has at least gotten down to 70 every night. It is very rough when it doesn’t cool down even after the sun has gone down. Next week I will be heading out to Reno for the Reno Quilt Festival and visiting with friends. We haven’t decided whether we are coming home next Friday or Saturday. It is possible I might miss next Friday’s post.
Happy Mother’s Day to everyone. I am headed to Seattle (via train) to spend the weekend with my daughter and her In-Laws who are here from Germany. I decided on potholders as gifts for Jannes’ family, so I am furiously sewing. LOL!
It has been a pretty productive stitching week even though most nights were just a couple of hours. I think it is because I only worked on aida projects this week. I am always faster with aida and of course lower count. But several of my projects were 18 count.
Happy Friday Everyone! We have a gorgeous bluebird day today with predictions of rain tomorrow. Don’t you love Spring? Sunny and warm one minute; cold and rainy the next.
Starts & Finishes
I did not realize until I was checking my stitching calendar that I had one finish and one start.
FINISH: Let’s Talk Spring by Hands on Design
Whew! Finding these photos was a chore. A few years ago I didn’t do a good job labelling my photos. I wanted to show how I have finished this Let’s Talk Series when I finished the framed chart in April. I look forward to finishing all of these! I love these colors!
