Floss Friday #19

The week sure went fast with the quilt show last week. I still managed to get some stitching in despite all the chaos.

I don’t have as much to chit chat about this week, but it was definitely great seeing all my quilty friends last week.

Starts & Finishes

I had one new start and three finishes this week. Very exciting to say the least!

Oct 9 Patch by Primrose Cottage Stitches
Stitched Oct 9 Patch by Primrose Cottage on 25 ct Vintage Country Mocha with DMC

This was my one start this w’eek along with a finish. I am loving this quick stitches. It sure makes you feel good.

Stitched on 25 ct Vintage Country Mocha lugana on mottled side with mostly the called for DMC threads. I pulled out of stash so I used DMC 725 & Blanc instead because it was what I had on hand.

September Barn Sweet Barn by Lori Holt
Sept Barn Sweet Barn on 20 ct white lugana with called for DMC

I wasn’t sure if I would like t’hese colors but after it was complete, I like it. I used all called for colors per Fat Quarter Shop website. Stitched on 20 ct white lugana with called for DMC threads.

Let’s Talk Autumn by Hands on Design
Med Let`s Talk Autumn stitched on 16 ct black aida with called for DMC

This was the medium chart who will be a pillow in the future. I worked on this project most of the week. It felt like I was so close so I kept plugging away at it. It was stitched on 16 ct black aida with called for DMC threads.

As a side note, I still need to stitch the large chart and the two leaves on perforated paper before I will be completely done with this pattern. I hope to have a Final Finish for the small chart (hoop) and/or medium chart (pillow) soon.

Final Finishes

None this week.

Progress on WIPS!

I actually finished all the wips I worked on this week except for one old one that I pulled out from 2021.

Bats & Boos 2021 MSAL by Fat Quarter Shop
FQS 2021 MSAL – Bats & Boos

I had to look up what I stitched on this one. I remember I used what was on hand. I stitched on 14 ct Fabric Flair Provence aida (it’s a mottled lavender) and I substituted Weeks Dye Works thread leftover from another SAL. It was fun to work on it this week. I have left the bats, background cobwebs and the border. I am going to try and spend some quality time on these stitches this week before Halloween to get in the spirt of the season.

Upcoming

Halloween is just a bit over a week away. While I would like to work on everything, I think I will focus on my two Halloween stitches this week while also starting my October Barn Sweet Barn. With a little time spent on some of my ongoing series.

Nala napping

Happy Stitching Everyone! Have an awesome weekend.

  1. I just love that barn cross stitch. I’ve probably asked you before, but do you purchase your linens through Fat Quarter Shop, or some other store? They are so pretty. All your projects look lovely, and so does Nala. 🙂
