Welcome back my stitchy friends! How is the last day of spring been for you? We have overall had a very mild spring with days in the 50s and days in the 80s. Some rain and some sunshine. Perfect spring weather. Right now we are in a rainy phase. This morning when I got up it was pouring cats and dogs. This afternoon I see peeks of blue skies between the white fluffy clouds and the grey stormy clouds. Wait five minutes and it could change!
May WIPGO Results
I am happy to say I finished both of my May WIPGO goals and made some progress on those old April and January goals.

May Project 15: Spring Stitching Season by Stitching with the Housewives

The WIPGO goal was to finish. Since there was not much left to do in May, I quickly wrapped this one up at the beginning of May. Simba is kindly modelling the finished stitch. While I was at Chantelle’s Retreat in Michigan, I was able to pick up the perfect board to finish this on. I look forward to a final finish.
May Project 18: Fieldguide to Dragons by Climbing Goats Design

The WIPGO goal for this project was 2000 stitches. I was very pleased to actually finish it. I started and finished the purple dragon and was able to start the red dragon. Very pleased to make so much progress.
June WIPGO Selections

Project 12: Monthly Square Dance by Heart in Hand

I had been stitching these one per month in 2025. I got off track with the move and never caught up. For May I decided to set aside this project until the fall. Guess what?! It was pulled so I am setting a WIPGO goal to finish October, November, and December. It will be nice to take it off my plate.
Project 21: April Month 2 Month by Stitching with the Housewives

I finished up March Month 2 Month recently so next up is April. Project 21 was Month 2 Month. I am thinking my goal will be 2000 stitches which should allow me to do the small button and get start the big barn. I am excited it was daffodils.
Starts & Finishes
Just one new start this week…
Merry Moments #2: Light the Way with Hands on Designs (only available on Pateron)

I am stitching on 16 ct aida dubloon (leftover from another project) with the called for DMC. It is not a large stitch and I should be able to stitch it in a few nights. Glad to get it started.
WIP Updates
I touched base on all my projects through the end of May which was cool. I haven’t put together my June goals. This week for sure.
2025 SJ Temp Moon Phases by Climbing Goat Designs

I was able to get four more moons done. I am now done through September 5th. I love the color wash. It is so pretty! This will be awesome when I finish.
2026 Vancouver Temp Solar Systems

My goal was to finish “the sun” which is January. Then I decided to do one color for Mercury (February) before I knew it I finished through February 14th. I did a few colors in the orbit. It was addictive.
JAN WIPGO Project 2: Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore

I got a few good nights in on this old WIPGO project from January. The goal was to finish and here I am six months later still working on it. I am seriously so close to being done. I might just focus in to finish it next week. This is going to be a wall hanging for sure.
April WIPGO Project 14: Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery

I was looking last night and there is just under 4000 stitches left on this huge sampler. I have been working on the thick inner border for a bit. I am close to finishing it. One more full motif and the outer border and this will be done. I hope to display this year round so I think I will have this one professionally framed with a protective uv glass. I will have to look around for where the best place in Vancouver is to have this done.
Fabulous House: The Castle by Cottage Garden Samplings

I really enjoy working on this project. The Castle is coming along nicely. I decided to work on some of the scenery in front of the castle which is a wave to start with. It is going to be very cool!
Plans & Reflections

I haven’t really made my plans for the month of June. It is so hard to believe it is here already. So next week’s plan is kind of loosey goosey.
- 30 Acorns prestitching start
- Finish Shabby Winter Calendar
- Fruit of Plenty
- Snowman Collector: The Scarecrow
- 2025 SJ Moon Phases
- Light the Way
- Make Today Count
- Kit up April Month 2 Month
- Check for Floss needs for Monthly Square Dance
My list of new starts in June are pretty long and I think I may need to pare it back a little:
- April Mo 2 Mo Button by Stitching with the Housewives
- April Mo 2 Mo Barn by Stitching with the Housewives
- Oct Square Dance by Heart in Hand
- Nov Square Dance by Heart in Hand
- Dec Square Dance by Heart in Hand
- Spring Bell Jar by Tiny Modernist
- Mr May by Charlie’s Needle
- Stitching Quilt by Primrose Cottage
- Our Land by Teresa Kogut
- 30 Acorns Pre-stitching (2 aida charts & 2 perforated paper charts)
Hmmm. Maybe with the prestitching I need to do I may push Our Land to July and Stitching Quilt as well. There is a lot to be done. I want to do Spring Bell Jar really badly because it has a hummingbird. I just love hummingbirds!
Well I need to get to stitching. I hope you enjoyed this version of Floss Friday. Join me on Tuesday for my quilting post and Friday for my cross stitch post.
