To Do Tuesday #183

Welcome back my quilty friends! While it has been a busy week, not much quilting happened. I never made it upstairs to my studio all week. BUT lucky for me, I had my english paper piecing hanging out with all my cross stitch projects.

WIP Updates

As I mentioned, I never made it to the sewing studio this week but we can take a look at my current english paper piecing project.

Queen of Diamonds by Pink Door Fabrics using Tula Pink fabric

LOL! I probably should have used a better background for the photos but I just couldn’t wait to share with you. While it took me forever to cut out this block (with all those little pieces for the center) it actually went together fairly quickly. I think overall I spent maybe four hours over the last seven days working on it. Maybe not even that long. I wasn’t really keeping track.

Queen of Diamond Blk 4-1

The center star hexie took the longest to assemble. Tiny pieces are harder to hold and for some reason feels like they have more glue. This will eventually be trimmed down to a half block for the edge of the quilt.

Weekly To Do List

Super Nova Month 1, Blocks 1, 2 & 3

As you can imagine, I only get to check off one thing from last week’s checklist:

  • Work on Queen of Diamond block 4-1

So I am pretty much carrying forward the rest of the list:

  • Quilt Turkey Lurkey wall haning
  • continue loading fabric on mini bolts
  • Cut Month 1 of SuperNova. We have blocks 1-1 (center medallion), 1-2 (5 stars), and 1-3 (star medallion plus part of another star). Total of 8 blocks to cut with center medallion 131 pieces 😳. Okay maybe I hope to finish cutting just block 1 this week and glue it next week???
  • Pull & cut Farmers Wife bloccks 51 & 52
  • Play on my new 990
  • Rearrange sewing room
  • Load a quilt on long arm
  • Unpack a fabric box
  • Cut June Monthly Color Challenge – Gray
  • Cut Autumn Seed Block 7
  • Finalize Quilting monthly goals
  • Sew a churn dash block (leaders & enders project)
  • Borders on Stars Aligned

Happy Mail

Super Nova Month 2 Happy Mail

Just received this yesterday – Super Nova Month 2 fabric. While I am excited to receive it, it means I am already behind. Big surprise. It looks like I will be working in the blue section in Month 2.

Musings

Quote

Actually any progress is considered a win! So much I want to do and so little time to do it. My sewing studio is looking a bit chaotic with all the new projects, machine, etc. I think it will be time to do a little tidying up.

Have a great week and I look forward to sharing my cross stitch projects on Friday.
