Hello Everyone! Sorry about missing last week’s blog. Just had a bad week so this week will be a lot since I did stitch everyday this past two weeks. LOL! 😝 Still working on the move which will be the theme for the next month.
Starts & Finishes
I am excited that I have already started five of the six planned starts for this month and one of the two finishes for March. After a mediocre February, I am feeling good about March. Let’s take a look:
START: WIPGO Project: Hello Summer by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)

I got a great start on this WIPGO project for the month. I am already 1216 stitches into my 1500 stitch WIPGO goal. Feeling pleased as ice cream over this one. I have been looking forward to starting this Stitch Quarterly project from a year ago. I love the vibrant colors and it is a delight to work on. In just two nights I am already over half done with this project. Just love stitching on this navy aida.
START: January Square Dance by Heart in Hand

I finally got rolling on this year long small series that I wanted to start. I had a few roadblocks but now it is going. I only had a couple of hours to work on it and am almost half done with it already. This is my second planned finish for March and it is right there in my grasp. I got to say, I am delighted making some more snowmen!
START: Spring Basket #1 (chart 1) by Hands on Design

This start is the last in the Triple Play Pillow series for me to do. As with all of the season in this series, there is a total of three charts and I started the first one this week. It has a lot more colors than all the others and I didn’t have all the colors on hand. Hobby Lobby finally opened in San Jose, so I did a floss run at there. It was nice. I am using the called for floss but am using Fiber on a Whim Steel 16 ct aida. My DMC 03 is blending in. I have to decide if I am going to switch shades of gray to help with that. Do I go lighter or darker I wonder? DMC 168 might look good. Hmmm. 🤔
START: Spring Stitching Season by Stitching with the Housewives

At last, I started Spring Stitching Season. This year has just been starts on the three of the four seasons so far. I am falling in love with this series the more I work on them. I was sad that I waited so long to start Winter, so I made a resolution to start on Spring first month of Spring. Viola!
It is not showing in the photo (lighting was terrible last night) but this is being stitched on 28 ct think white pine evenweave by Fabric Flair with the kitted Classic Colorworks. So far, I like it!
START & FINISH: Pop of Spring by Bent Creek

This was the last of the four seasons of the Pop of Zipper kits by Bent Creek. I have really enjoyed stitching on this 20ct linen with DMC pearl cotton floss. I look forward to starting the Easter tree in April.
WIP Updates
With two weeks since the last post, I have been able to work on ALL my active WIPs that I missed the first week of March. From now on, it will be about accomplishing my monthly goals.
WIPGO Project: 2025 SJ Moon Phases by Climbing Goats Design

My plan since last post was to stitch 15 minutes per night before starting my main project. And that is how it started. After 15 minutes, I did feel like I got that much done, so I decided to do 3 moons. Well that backfired on me too because that would take so long, it left little time for my “main” project of the evening. All I can say is I finished January moons including outlining (which has been harder than I was thinking) and started on February moons. I even did a few more stars in the border.
I am still trying to work on them each evening. I think I am going to have to stick with the 15 minutes and plan one day per week where I do it for the whole evening. That is the plan for upcoming week anyway. Tonight will be the whole evening on the moons 🌒 which I think are looking amazing.
Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore

The goal for this month is to finish Day 12. Some days take longer than others and this is one taking longer. The border was more complicated as it is the end of the row border. Doesn’t it look great.
Crescent City Velaris by Woven Wild Crafts

I was able to fill in more blocks of 10×10 stitches. I was able to finish 215 of my 500 stitch March goal. I plan to work on this at least one more time this month. The more I get done on this 1 of 30 pages, I am starting to see the subtle design of blue on blue. Fun!
Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery

I worked on working on the motif border and fill in. It is coming along nicely. I only finished 312 of the 500 stitches for March. So one more night to work on this one. It looks so fabulous. Seeing my initials is very cool.
Snowman Collector: The Shepherd by Cottage Garden Samplings

I so enjoy the colors in this project. Weeks Dye Works Cocoa is the coat and I feel like it makes the coat seem so rich with color. So gorgeous. I worked on outlining the right side of the coat as well as his shepherd’s hook. I loved filling in some of the quilt patches on his coat. It really adds so much interest to this project.
Calendar Gnome: Mr. January by Charlie’s Needle

I was able to finish filling in the “pond” and the fire this past week. I discovered a mistake, but decided to leave it and I will just have to work around it. My goal was 400 stitches and I was able to get 217 done. Next up will be filling in the Gnome’s sweater with a gorgeous navy called CCW Wavy Navy. I am excited to see it filled in.
February Month to Month by Stitching with the Housewives

I would love to finish this one this month but I awill have to stick to my 800 stitches for March. I have a nice start with 541 stitchs. I have finished the word “February” and started on the barn.
Afterthoughts

While I have worked on every active March WIP, I haven’t hit all my goals for the month. Here is what I am thinking for the next 7 days:
- Finish February Moons for the 2025 SJ Moon Phases
- Start September Stackables
- Finish my 1000 stitches on Frosty Tiny Town so that I will have finished my February WIPGO goal
- Finish Day 12 of the Shabby Winter Calendar
- Finish my 800 stitch goal for February Month 2 Month
- Finish my 500 stitch goal for Crescent City Velaris full coverage project
- Finish my 500 stitch goal for Fruit of Plenty
Any spare time will go to the WIPGO project: 2025 SJ Moon Phases (along with 15 minutes every day). I was really hoping to get this project current and more of the border done during March.
I am planning another trip for the end of the month to buy furniture for the new house in Vancouver, Washington which means another distraction. When I am at Caitlin’s, I don’t ever get much stitching done. Her house sucks when it comes to lighting and comfortable place to stitch. Shaun might go with me to Vancouver as it will be his Spring Break. It will give him an opportunity to go snowboarding with his Auntie. Very excited for him.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the eye candy!
