Happy Halloween Everyone! Hope you had a very productive week. Me not so much. I had two sewing machines in the shop as well as my truck. I felt very disconnected all week although I had plenty of hand work or long arm work to do. Just not in the groove for the week. LOL! Why do we always want to use what we don’t have?
The plan is to hook up with Carol @ Quilt Schmilt this week. Last week her linkup wasn’t up when I was on my computer on Tuesday and then I forgot.
What Got Done This Week
They called on Tuesday that one of my machines was ready but I didn’t have my truck. When I went to get my truck on Tuesday, they said I would have to bring it back on Thursday because they didn’t have all the parts. So Wednesday found me grocery shopping and running errands. I failed to make it to the shop to pick up my sewing machine on Wednesday.
Dropped off my truck on Thursday and didn’t get it back until 5:30p on Friday. The sewing center called to let me know my second machine was now ready as well. Never got a chance to pick it up until Saturday! Even then I barely made it there as I was running around doing all my errands on Saturday.
Sunday finally got the machines back in their respective places and did some sewing between hockey and basketball games. Here is what I got done in the last two days:
After being totally off my game for the last two weeks, it is taking some effort to get back in my groove. Sunday finally got moving.
- Big Stitch quilted Summer Basket pillow #2 & finished sewing the envelope style pillow cover
- Decided to make the last two pillow forms at the same time so finished those up with a whip stitch close
- Prepped Summer Basket #3 with quilting lines as well as basting down to my batting. (Not shown)
- Was feeling my groove after the whip stitching that I decided to pull out my Queen of Diamonds block 1-2 to work on. I was happy to get all the diamonds attached and then sewed the two halves together. This is actually close to being done.
- Yesterday I decided to cut the last 3 blocks (14, 16, 17) for my Sweet Childhood Memories QAL with Pat Sloan. I was very much in the zone picking the colors for the blocks. Of course, I had decided on basic colors for the blocks ahead of time. I thought about cutting the sashing for the last section but opted to wait.

Afterthoughts
The nights are cold and the days are pleasant. I just love Fall! This Friday will be a quilt zoom day. I am prepping things to sew for that day. I really need this day. It normally gets me back on track after I have fallen off the wagon.
This is the last day of October (Happy Halloween). It’s hard to believe that November is tomorrow. Looking at my calendar it is kind of busy month. I hope to do a quick trip to Nevada. We have Thanksgiving which I am currently planning to spend with my sister.
I found the cutest fabric and it is in my cart. I am debating whether to buy it or not. Sunflowers & bees in yellow and aqua…..
Everyone have a great week. I will chat with you next week!

Really like the big stitching in the pillows. LOVE fall as well! I’m pretty sad that everyone is pushing Christmas so much right now. Fall is flying by way too quickly as it is with out that, and I just want to enjoy all of November and esp Thanksgiving!
Your basket pillows are gorgeous! Hopefully with your truck and your machines in place you can feel “normal” again. Enjoy the rest of your week!
