To Do Tuesday #152

Hello from Vancouver, Washington where it is freaking hot today! I didn’t move to the Pacific Northwest to be roasted to death. It has been over 98F for several days and I am looking forward to the predicted rain that should be here by Thursday. I would never have guessed I would be looking forward to rain 🌧️

With my studio on the second floor, it has been unbearable to be upstairs for extended periods of time in the sewing studio. I managed to work on a few blocks as well as start unpacking my fabric boxes. I have already unpacked 10 boxes. For someone who doesn’t like green, I sure have a lot. I am guessing it is becauses every collection comes with green and I tend to not use it. LOL! I elected to focus on sorting fabrics by color in the new studio and that is where I am at for now.

To Do Tuesday #145

Oops! Has it been two weeks? Sorry about that. I got wrapped up with guests again. This time it was my brother Scott in from Brooklyn, New York. He stayed with me a few days before heading down to Corvallis to see his grandkids. It was awesome seeing him. It has been a year. The most exciting thing we did was do a hike at

It was a beautiful day for a hike – sunny & 70F. Only issue I had was that it said it was 2 miles but it was really 3 miles 🥾🤪. I survived. This hike is not an easy hike. There is a lot of elevation. I opted to go UP the steepest part and come down the sloping hillside. As always, coming down is harder than going up. Great hike though! Great company.

To Do Tuesday #144

This week has found me settling into more normal routine except for the daily trips to do kitty chores for the honeymooners who are currently in Grand Teton National Park. It has been a heatwave here but all of us are mustering through. In my truck it hit a high of 99F. Today is way cooler. Such a relief after the past several days.

Grand Teton National Park

My friend Carol Schmilt who is our host for To Do Tuesday in British Columbia has also been affected by the same heat wave. Planning to link up with Carol this week. Check out the blog and the linkup for inspiring ideas.

To Do Tuesday #136

It has been two weeks since I shared with you. Last week got away from me. First I didn’t have anything to share because my machine ended up in the shop for a week. Since I was not sewing, I kind of just got out of my groove. I even have a second machine to sew with. I just didn’t.

Started backing the quilting/crafting stuff today. I spent some time this weekend, pulling together all the pieces and parts for several of the English Paper Piecing projects that were kept in two of my four rooms (dining room & Harry Potter closet). Neither of the these two rooms were single use rooms, so there was other things with sewing stuff. LOL!

To Do Tuesday #102

Welcome to this week’s update of all things quilty that I have worked on for the past seven days. I have slowly readjusted to being home. Still feeling a little scattered but working in my sewing room for a few days has gone a long way to settling me down.

The biggest relief is the heat. We finally came out of the heatwave over the weekend and it has been a pleasant 75-80F each day. I don’t have to wait until almost midnight to take my 30 minute walk now. Although, I do find it refreshing to walk before I go to bed and get the blood moving.

I will be linking up with Carol @ Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday. Please check out her blog.

To Do Tuesday #95

Hi Everyone! We are having a beautiful spring day here in San Jose. It is the high 70’s here and so pleasant with a blue sky. I am enjoying every minute of it. I visited my sister Dorothy in Modesto, California which can be very hot, but instead it was a beautiful day which we spent most of in her backyard. I loved the visit.

To Do Tuesday #50

Hello my friends! How time has flown since we last chatted. Last week was spent in Garderville and Reno, Nevada with my quilty friends Mary Elizabeth, Toni, and Teri. We had a great time shopping, eating, and just spending time together. We spent a day at the Reno Quilt Festival which was fun. The show was bigger than I expected and I spent way more money than planned. Saw lots of new vendors and some gorgeous quilts.
