CROSS STITCH DIARY: July Update

Hello My Friends! This is totally a crazy month. There will be nothing organized or normal for July or even August. You may remember that I got a new long arm but there was something wrong with the computer unit (darn computers!) so I am still waiting for the part. I could have started using the long arm anyway but chose not to.

CROSS STITCH DIARY: Update June 2021

It’s been a busy month since we last chatted about my cross stitch projects. I’ve still lacking in courage or a defined plan for a framed or finished project. I have on my list Singing in the Rain and FQS Stitch Quarterly America.

CROSS STITCH DIARY: April 2021

I’ve been focused the past two weeks on finishing up my February themed projects so I could try and get caught up on my Monthly series. I realized today that I just have too many monthly series so it is making it hard to work on my non-monthly projects.

CROSS STITCH DIARY: The final weeks of Sitchtober 2020

Welcome to November! We only have a few weeks of Fall left and here I am still working on Halloween projects and a few fall projects. I am trying to wrap up all Halloween projects before starting any new projects.

CROSS STITCH DIARY: Stitchtober 2020 Update

Things have been moving along slowly but surely. Of course some patterns are more challenging than others but they are all fun. I have to say, stitching Halloween and Fall projects really does get you in the spirit of the season. I liked how Lori Holt talked about Stitchtober wasn’t about finishing things but about the season.

CROSS STITCH DIARY: Stitch-tober 2020

CROSS STITCH DIARY: September Starts and Finishes

Finishes!!!!

Singing in the Rain Stitchalong with Flamingo Toes

Stitchalong with Beverly @ Flamingo Toes

I was very excited to finish this Stitch-A-long on time. This is my second finish this year. Being new to cross stitching in this modern age, I am learning the expected etiquette. So this was 28 count and I used Kimberly’s aurfil floss colors. This was my first time to use aurifil floss. I will get better with providing the information everyone expects.

Cross Stitch Diary: First Finish!

August the last month of Summer has arrived in full force.  While all of us are still sheltering in place here in California, stitching has become a way to pass the time.  I have been learning a ton about the world of cross stitch.  There are many things that are the same, but more things are different with cross stitch.

I have enjoyed learning to work with evenweave cloth and can’t believe, I prefer it over aida cloth.  It is still easier to count with aida, but laguna and other evenweave are actually easier to stitch.  I am still finding my identity in this new cross stitch world. Quilt Diary: 2020 Q2 Finishes & Q3 Goals

The second quarter of 2020 has flown by even though we are in quarantine.  It seems like a life time ago that we didn’t have to wear masks in public.  It is a strange time in history and I don’t see it changing.  I have checked the WHO lately or some of the other scientific sites to see how close we are to a vaccination.  When I checked last it was 18 months out.  Crazy world.  I would much rather hibernate in my quilting world.  I feel very grateful that we have the internet and can shop and touch base with other quilters via social media.  Video online classes – that seemed ridiculous until now right?  With all that, I must say I have a very high expectation in my finishes and so I am trying not to beat myself up. Cross Stitch Diary: Jolly July

Welcome back to the second edition of the Cross Stitch Diary.  July is the month that many crafters begin making things for Christmas time because it takes us so long to finish.  I am taking it a little easy here on the Cross Stitch side since I have a few in the works for the quilting side.
