APPLIQUE DIARY: December Finishes!

This past month has found me working on a number of things including my applique projects. I am close to finishing my current projects. I thought I was going to be able to start my Christmas projects, but that is not realistic so I have made a new pull of possible new starts that I will share with you.

APPLIQUE DIARY: Summer Applique Projects are Back!

I thought since I finally setup my Bernina 880 again, I would give you an update on my Machine Applique projects that I have been working on this past year. When Alison went to the Sewing Machine doctor, I went on a hiatus. My 880 is my preferred machine for appliquing and I have dozens of different color bobbins already wound. Here we go!

Quilt Diary: 2020 Q2 Finishes & Q3 Goals

The second quarter of 2020 has flown by even though we are in quarantine.  It seems like a life time ago that we didn’t have to wear masks in public.  It is a strange time in history and I don’t see it changing.  I have checked the WHO lately or some of the other scientific sites to see how close we are to a vaccination.  When I checked last it was 18 months out.  Crazy world.  I would much rather hibernate in my quilting world.  I feel very grateful that we have the internet and can shop and touch base with other quilters via social media.  Video online classes – that seemed ridiculous until now right?  With all that, I must say I have a very high expectation in my finishes and so I am trying not to beat myself up. Quilt Diary: June Projects Update

My boss has been in town this week (and next) as well as getting a visitor Monday night who will be staying indefinitely.  His name is Jannes and he is from Germany.  He was supposed to get his Canadian Visa by now and because of COVID-19 that hasn’t happened.  He is hoping to be in Canada within the next two weeks.  So we shall see.  With so much going on, I have barely touched my project list this week.

On to updating you on all things quilty! Continue reading “Quilt Diary: June Projects Update”

Quilt Diary: June Goals and Update

I started a blog two months ago and never published it.  I apologize for my inconsistency these past few months.  I will try and close the gap and not make this too long of a blog.  I have been busy with my projects as well as work and home.

Quilt Diary: 2020 Quarter 2 Finish-Along

Well this past week found me finishing up a bunch of items for the end of Quarter 1.  I wrapped up both Blooming Pumpkins and the Halloween wall hangings as well as finishing up the blue pinwheel potholders.  That put me at 11 finished projects for Quarter one.  Definitely one of my best quarters with a full size quilt as well as many small projects completed! Quilt Diary: Welcome to April and another month of COVID-19

I don’t know about all of you, I am so tired of this virus running my life.  It is throwing our economy into chaos and spinning us into a recession.  Lucky for me, I have a fabric stash that should carry me through.  How about you? Quilt Diary: First APQResolution2020 finish!!!

This is a crazy world we are living in right now.  I will keep my thoughts and views to myself as I know I think very different than most people on what is happening in the world today.  So let’s move on to more fun topics – like Quilting!! Quilt Diary: March Madness

I gave some serious consideration to not putting this blog under the Quilt Diary label but decided screw it.  I’ve been living in a world of secrets for the past 15 months.  You know how some of you have secret sewing, I had secret business deal in the works.  It finally came out in the open on March 2nd when we announced our company was being sold and the deal was closed on March 11th.  I am officially self-employed now.  The past two weeks have been high stress, emotional, and ton of work.  I have worked 12 hour days for 12 days straight which left zero time to quilt and I mean ZERO.  This has been the hardest part of the past two weeks as I use quilting to keep my sanity.  While it has been three weeks since I posted a blog, not a lot of things have happened in my quilting world due to work life.  So let’s see if I can get you updated on the good stuff! Quilt Diary: February 2020 Goals

Time flies by!  It has already been another week. I thought I could update you on what I have been doing this week towards my February goals.  Even though this is a big travel month, I do also have some home time.  I think it will end up being a very balanced month.  My daughter is coming for a visit next week.  She is going to watch Shaun play hockey next weekend and come home with us.  Then her boyfriend will be flying up and the two of them will be skiing for a week.  When she gets back, Shaun and I will be gone to another hockey tournament.  Including this weekend, that is 3 weekends of hockey, hockey, hockey.  There is only one weekend without hockey and luckily Caitlin will be here.

On to quilting….. Continue reading “Quilt Diary: February 2020 Goals”
