I have a habit of doing all my headers before I actually write. You remember as kids the English teacher would have us do an outline? While developing my own style for this blog, I have discovered that it goes much quicker when I make a list of all the sections I am going to write about.

Finishalong Diary: Quarter 1 2021
I really thought I would finish more things than I did, but I still finished 7 different projects this quarter out of 21. I feel good about that. I keep getting more organized as time goes on, so all is good!

This month I did not spend as much time as I would like on my applique projects since I was bound and determined to finish my Christmas quilt (which got mailed last week). I did manage to eek out a little time for these fun projects in the past four weeks.

I’ve been busy with life this past month and haven’t made it into my sewing room as much as I would like. I tell myself to take a deep breath and let it go. Reminding myself that quilting in all of its forms is a stress reliever not a stressful hobby. Anyone else feeling me with setting your own goals to high. Well let’s get started on what has happened (or not) with my applique projects.

Last week and weekend the weather was very distracting getting up to the high 70’s here in San Jose, California. It was better to be outside than in.
With focusing on trying to wrap up my Christmas quilt, my applique projects have not gotten all the attention they deserve. I did a regroup a few weeks ago to see where I was at and what steps were needed for my current projects.

This past month has found me working on a number of things including my applique projects. I am close to finishing my current projects. I thought I was going to be able to start my Christmas projects, but that is not realistic so I have made a new pull of possible new starts that I will share with you.

APPLIQUE DIARY: Summer Applique Projects are Back!
I thought since I finally setup my Bernina 880 again, I would give you an update on my Machine Applique projects that I have been working on this past year. When Alison went to the Sewing Machine doctor, I went on a hiatus. My 880 is my preferred machine for appliquing and I have dozens of different color bobbins already wound. Here we go!

I started a blog two months ago and never published it. I apologize for my inconsistency these past few months. I will try and close the gap and not make this too long of a blog. I have been busy with my projects as well as work and home.

Quilt Diary: 2020 Quarter 2 Finish-Along
Well this past week found me finishing up a bunch of items for the end of Quarter 1. I wrapped up both Blooming Pumpkins and the Halloween wall hangings as well as finishing up the blue pinwheel potholders. That put me at 11 finished projects for Quarter one. Definitely one of my best quarters with a full size quilt as well as many small projects completed! Continue reading “Quilt Diary: 2020 Quarter 2 Finish-Along”
Quilt Diary: March Madness
I gave some serious consideration to not putting this blog under the Quilt Diary label but decided screw it. I’ve been living in a world of secrets for the past 15 months. You know how some of you have secret sewing, I had secret business deal in the works. It finally came out in the open on March 2nd when we announced our company was being sold and the deal was closed on March 11th. I am officially self-employed now. The past two weeks have been high stress, emotional, and ton of work. I have worked 12 hour days for 12 days straight which left zero time to quilt and I mean ZERO. This has been the hardest part of the past two weeks as I use quilting to keep my sanity. While it has been three weeks since I posted a blog, not a lot of things have happened in my quilting world due to work life. So let’s see if I can get you updated on the good stuff!
