Floss Friday #135

I am happy to be able to work on my cross stitch projects during this time of chaos called MOVING. LOL 😝 I have some things to share with you for this week as things are going very well. Not sure how April will go but March has been pretty darn good! Let’s take a look.

Starts & Finishes

I started my final project for March but haven’t finished anything new. I am close so next week I will share my final finish with you.

START: September Stackables by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)

Start September Stackables 3/21/2025

I was excited this adorable Stackables. This is a fun series. I can’t say stitching the watering can was a blast but it flowed nicely. I can’t wait to start on the sunflowers for the watering can. I just adore sunflowers 🌻

WIP Updates

I made great progress this week. While I did not work EVERY night on my Moon Phases project, I did work often in small increments of 15ish mintues as well as throwing in my Square Dance project since I seem to be having an issue focusing on these cute little snowmen. No idea why. Take a look.

WIPGO Project: 2025 SJ Moon 🌖 Phases by climbing goat designs

I am over halfway done with February (the 17th) so far. I set big goals for this project this month thinking I would finish January, February, and top bordere as well as start March. I might have bitten off more than I can chew. Yet… I have made great progress. I get distracted working extended amount of time of these cute little moons. It is a lot of stop and start which slows me down but I love them! I think it is gorgeous.

WIPGO PROJECT: Hello Summer by It’s Sew Emma (a Stitch Quarterly Project)

I met my WIPGO goal for the month which is awesome. I love all these bright colors on the navy background. The popsicles are fun to stitch. I thought (not) stitching the letters of Summer would be harder than it has been. I only have two popsicles to go and then I will just need to add the word Hello above. I can’t wait to work on that in April.

Frosty Tiny Town by Heart in Hand

I used March to meet my WIPGO goal for February so still need to do more but I think it is turning out well. Each little tiny town has had its own special joy. I can’t wait to finish this one up in April.

January Square Dance by Heart in Hand

I didn’t realize until now that I didn’t take a progress photo from last night. I finished the top row of snowmen last night so there will not be much left to do. Sorry about that. I will try and remember to take one to share next week with the finish photo. I am using leftover fabric from last year’s monthly markings and I originally planned on making each design as a standalone, but the fabric is drawing me to do it as all one piece……. It could be fun.

February Month 2 Month by Stitching with the Housewives

Last week when I shared I realized I had set a stitch goal for this project so I was giddy getting to work on it again this week. I met that stitch goal and passed it. I got the barn roof completely done.

Crescent City Velaris by Woven Wild Crafts

Crescent City Velaris WIP 3/26/2025

These full coverage projects are an interesting beast to work on. Obviously I like working with just one color but then I was finding it was hard to see where I still needed to fill in. But I don’t like working a 10×10 grid either. It is not very flowy. So I continue messing around with how I work on a full coverage project. It is nice seeing something beside dark shades of blue in the project. I met this month’s 500 stitch goal.

Fruit of Plenty by MOdern Folk EmbrOidery

This week I worked on finishing the motif on the left. It is close to being done. I exceeded the monthly goal of 500 stitches by a lot. Motifs have more flow and are easy to work on. These birds are very folksy and nice to work on.

April WIPGO Goals

WIPGO April 2025: projects 4 & 10

Project 4: Santa 2010 by Prairie Schooler

While I am excited this was pulled for April, I am sad it is already packed away for the move. So you will not see this one until after mid April, but I definitely can’t wait to work on it! It will be a new start and I plan to finish it in April as well.

Project 10: September Stackables by It’s Sew Emma

Another fist pump 👊🏼! I just started this project this past week and was thrilled that this project number was pulled for April. See Starts for where I am at today. As mentioned, I adore 🌻 and am totally pumped to be working on this for April. My WIPGO goal is to actually finish in April which is a big ask as this project has almost 4500 stitches in total and I have done a wee bit over 400. That is the biggest WIPGO goal I have had so far. But I am thinking with the move, this may become a primary stitch for a couple of weeks while I settle into my new house.

Afterthoughts

I leave Monday for a road trip to Vancouver to buy furniture for the new house and get it set up for the cats. I will get home with only four or five days to finish packing for the move on April 11th. While I have every intention to post this next week, it might not happen. There is a lot to do in the week Vancouver and the week back in San Jose. Time is moving FAST.

Let me share what I hope to work on this next week:

  • Finish February moons for the 2025 SJ Moon Phases
  • Finish Day 12 of the Shabby Winter Calendar
  • Finish January Square Dance
  • Finish my Mr January monthly goal of 400 stitches
  • Finish my March goal of 500 stitches for the Spring Basket chart 1
  • September Stackables
  • Spring Stitching Seasons 500 stitches
  • Hello Summer 400 stitches

Looking a bit ambitious 😂 but I am ready to give it a try. Thank you for stopping by to check on my eye candy. Hope you are having a great day!
