Hello Everyone! Another week is in the books. Last week was spent in Reno taking a couple of classes at Quilt Festival before walking the floor. We checked out the vendors as well as all the quilts on display. I took a class from Laura Heine called Teeny Tiny Elephant Collage (class sample above). Check out what Mary Elizabeth and I got done in class.
The next day we took a class from Reezy for Electric Quilt 8. I have been trying to recreate a free quilt by Fat Quarter Shop for weeks now. All of the exact blocks were not in the program, so I needed to draw them. I wanted to color the quilt using the fabric I purchased Alison Glass 2024 Sunprints. The week before class, I successfully got the swatches loaded but hadn’t figured out how to save them into my library. I had a lot of questions for my teacher. She answered all of them and gave us a lot of good tips for creating quilts. By Friday I finished recreating the quilt design and coloring it. Check it out!
I never knew the snail trail block could add so much to a quilt design. I came up with the border from the Reno class. I can not wait to start it. When I printed out the yardage charts I realize that I need a tad bit more fabric for 4 of my colors.

Afterthoughts
I am starting to get ready for the quilt retreat I am attending in July. Three of us are supposed to ride together. I am not sure if that is actually going to work. All three of us have a lot of stuff. LOL 😂
I realized I will need to make a cutting chart by fabric for my newly designed FPP quilt ~ 2024 Venti Sunprint FPP Quilt. I am trying to limit myself to only 3 projects and this will be one of them. I don’t know if it is possible for me to only do three projects for a week. That is way out of my comfort zone.
I really like how my new pieced borders look on my Sunshine Quilt. I totally love the new “red” fill in for my borders. It brought the whole quilt together. So pleased with the results. Now I just am waiting for Gammill to show up to tune my long arm (and rethread it for me 🥹).
I also have to work in some time for helping my daughter move 4th of July week. Plans are in the works but not firm yet. I am so glad it is not ME moving. Lots of planning in my future. Woohoo!
Planning to linkup with Carol @ Quilt Schmilt for this week’s To Do Tuesday. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on my projects!

I love the Venti design! Also love the Teeny Tiny elephant! The red absolutely suits the Sunshine quilt!! You have a busy month coming. So glad you added up all the fabric so you can get what you need!!
Your collage is really pretty. The Venti Sunprint quilt will be stunning! I agree with you on the red on your border for the Sunshine quilt, so beautiful. Is your daughter moving near you? Hope you have a great rest of the week Peggy!
Lol! She is 4 hours closer. After her living in Halifax for 4 years (4 time zones away), being on the same coast is wonderful.
