Hope everyone had a good holiday with friends and family. It is good to be home!
I went to Seattle to spend the holiday with my daughter so she wouldn’t be alone. We did a 5k Turkey Trot in the morning to get things rolling which caused me to be stiff as all heck the next couple of days. I am finally back to normal today.
She made us turkey, stuffing from scratch, gravy from scratch, roasted kale (who knew I would even like it) and homemade cranberry sauce. For dessert we had German Apple Cake and Pumpkin Pie. A total food coma set in after all that good food.
I will be linking up with Linda at Texas Quilt Gal for To Do Tuesday. Come join us!
What Got Done This Week?!
As expected when you are on the road for the majority of the week, not much gets done:
- Round 1 of Ruby’s Garden EPP block 20
- Scrappiness is Happiness – week 4 (Just love how this turned out! See above)
Week 30 To Do List (Nov 29th – Dec 5th, 2022)
I have high hopes for this week and the month of December. I have so many things close to being finished, I hope to reduce my total number of wips for the year. To get that started, I hope to finish items 1 & 2 in November.
To Do #1 – Finish 8 pointed star potholders
These potholders should be an easy finish now that I have them appliqued. It will still take some time to layer, quilt and bind but are totally doable for the week and maybe for month end.
To Do #2 – Bind Rose Quilt
This has been hanging on the to do list forever. Once I start working on it, it shouldn’t take long if I do it by machine. Another hopefully by Wednesday night finish.
To Do #3 – Week 5 Scrappiness is Happiness block QAL
I haven’t checked to see what that is yet, but I can’t imagine it taking too long. I can’t believe I am still current with this QAL with Lori Holt.
To Do #4 – Sew June 29th & June 30th 365 blocks
I have block 6/29 halfway done already so I can’t imagine it not getting done. I can’t remember what June 30th looked like but go me!
To Do #5 – Quilt February Table Runner
Yes this is still on my list. Wouldn’t it be nice to finish the quilting so we can get to binding the darn thing.
To Do #6 – Quilt March Table Runner
Why not? March is just around the corner and I will need to still make some green placemats and green napkins for my kitchen, but at least this would be done.
To Do #7 – Sew 2 more Green Churn Dash blocks
Just need to sew the last two green blocks to layout and sew the next two rows of this very springy quilt.
To Do #8 – Sew Row 8 of the Hawaiian Quilt
All laid and out and ready to hit this. It feels pretty nifty to be over halfway done with the blocks and top for this quilt. Such a simple block goes together so quickly.
To Do #9 – Finish 10 inch design board
I just have to pull out the glue gun and glue these down. I have two ready to be finished and 4 more I need to make binding for.
To Do #10 – Rose Garden EPP block 20 – round 2
With the initial flower shape, next is adding the two end units and two side units to finish the diamond shape. This round takes longer as I have to make all four units first. I started the process this morning.
To Do #11 – Assemble Rows 5 & 6 of Tula Pink Tiny Beast Quilt
This is number 11 in my priorities for sure. Since I am home this whole next week, I wanted to make sure I didn’t run out of things to do. (Like that would ever happen. LOL)
Wrap Up
While the list is long, some tasks are easy peasy once you have the right tools out and some of the others I have to do if I really want to clean up my WIP list for year end. I had hoped to have all of my APQ Resolution quilts finished. Or just even have completed 12 quilts this year would be such a cool thing. So I got to push and expect more.
- Finish potholders
- Bind Rose quilt
- Week 5 Scrappiness is Happiness block
- Two more 365 blocks
- Quilt February table runner
- Quilt March table runner
- Two more Churn Dash blocks
- One more row added to Hawaiian Quilt
- Finish up 10 inch design boards I am using before I mess them up
- Round 2 of Rose Garden EPP block 20
- Begin Assembling second half of Tula Pink Tiny Beast quilt with rows 5 & 6
My babies were very happy to see me Monday morning even though mommy was a bit sleepy having gotten up at 3am to catch a flight home. I had thought I was going to take a nap, but Simba wanted pets instead. So I obliged and never did get to a nap for me as I got distracted watching the World Cup and sewing in my Studio.
Good luck everyone on your projects. It is fun to see what everyone is doing and I am excited about wrapping up some finishes this week!
Peggy Stockwell
Wow!! You have some wonderful projects on the go. Happy quilting!
Thanks
Nice trip to visit your daughter and go you! For doing a Turkey Trot! I was doing pretty well on the APQ UFO challenge for a while and the. Sometime around September I fell apart. I’m hoping to get one of those tops done in Dec along with one more — maybe one on list but maybe not. Hope you get a lot of studio time this month.
Thanks Bonnie. Wishing you the best getting another top or two done in 2022.
Sounds like a nice trip but it’s always good to be home, esp with so many projects going! Good luck on your list!
Thanks Cheree for stopping by and leaving encouraging words.
Hi Peggy! Your co-blogger, Simba, is so gorgeous. What lovely coloring! I can see that they are a huge help and motivator. You have a ton of items on your to-do list for the week. I wish you good luck getting them checked off. The very first picture you share of a quilt top is also gorgeous. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Thanks Roseanne. Simba is always trying to be helpful lol. Thank you for the encouragement.
So many beautiful projects! And your co-blogger is adorable.
Thanks Michelle. Simba definitely loves to be adored. Lol.
Your Thanksgiving menu sounds yummy!! I love scrolling through your projects – everything is so colorful and pretty! And the photos of your kitties are always a welcome sight for me. I’m particularly fond of that green table runner. Thank you for sharing with us at To Do Tuesday!
Thank you once again for all of your encouragement Linda!!!
WOW! You’ve got lots going on! Every project looks great, I hope you meet your goals!
Karla I probably won’t get everything on my list done. I am a bit ADD so I feel I can’t do anything that isn’t on my list, therefore plenty of options for the week. Lol 😆
