Floss Friday #24

Another week on the road. I feel like I made pretty good use of my time this week. I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. Here is a recap.

Starts & Finishes

I had 2 starts and 2 finishes this week. Let’s see what they were.

November Truckin Along by Stitching with the Housewives
November Truckin Along start

I was able to get this one started and ready on Tuesday night before heading to Seattle. I only stitched five stitches Tuesday so I would know where the middle was but threaded up a bunch of needles for this start. See all the progress I made in just two days!

This is being stitched on 14 ct chalkboard black aida with called for Classic Colorworks thread.

How sweet it is! I started this on our hockey weekend in Vacaville and was able to finish when we got back home on Monday night! There is just one left in this series and it will be time to finish off everything!

This was stitched on 20 ct white lugana with called for DMC thread.

Bats & Boos MSAL 2021 by Fat Quarter Shop

I am so happy to finish this SAL from last year. It was stitched on 14 ct Fabric Flair Provence with Weeks Dye Works packet from 2019 Halloween SAL. I really like this one and I am leaning towards making this into a pillow…maybe.

Final Finishes

None this week.

Works in Progress

With so much focus on starting and finishing projects, that did not leave much time to working on WIPS. So I only worked on one this week.

August Cottage of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
August Cottage of the Month in progress

My original goal was to finish the top border this week, but I ended up working on the bottom border instead since I had already stitched part of it. Unfortunately, I ran out of time this week and didn’t finish either border. I still have high hopes of finishing this project this month.

Upcoming

Half the week I will still be in Seattle visiting my daughter. While here, I will continue to work on November Truckin’ Along. When I get home, I want to finish August Cottage of the Month and hopefully find some time to work on May Calendar Crates and June Sampler of the Month.

As we transition into December, next week will be my last week to work on autumn projects until next year. I have so many Christmas WIPS, I can’t afford to waste my days in December.

Hobbes, my grand fur baby, hanging out with me while I stitch.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

  1. All the kitties in your life are adorable! I really like the chalkboard black. Your fabrics look nice and soft, and I love your stitching. Enjoy your time with your daughter!

    1. Last one!!!! Yes my daughter’s kitties are adorable. Since I was at her house while writing the blog, I thought they deserved some internet time too! LOL! I like dark backgrounds with cross stitch and quilting. I tend to gravitate to it. I got in a ton of stitching time on the truck project meanwhile I neglected Ruby’s Garden which I took also. I hope to be able to post the finish this Friday!
