To Do Tuesday #19

The summer is wrapping up so quickly. Here in California, the kids are back in school already with Labor Day Weekend this coming weekend. For my household, that means we will be off to a hockey tournament. At least our first one is close – So Cal.

I will be joining Linda over at Texas Quilt Gal for To Do Tuesday this week. Thank you Linda for hosting this wonderful tool!

What Got Done!

  1. Name of the Rose was finally quilted!
  2. Sewed enough churn dash blocks to sew the first two rows together,
  3. Completed August Monthly Color Challenge block,
  4. Completed 365 block – June 22nd,
  5. Put together row 2 of the White Hawaiian quilt,
  6. Finished Mystery SAL Olympia Clue 8,
  7. Trimmed the first 42 blocks of my Tula Pink Tiny Beasts Quilt, and
  8. Refinished Charming Sunflowers quilt top (changed the borders).

It didn’t feel like it was that much but now I am looking at the list and I am super happy with progress in the last two weeks!

To Do List #19 (August 30th – September 12th)

I will be out of town for most of this upcoming week and definitely won’t get back in time to do a blog so I this is my list for the next two weeks.

To Do #1 – Label for Name of the Rose quilt

This is only my fourth top on the long arm. Another lesson learned – Iron the top to death. I had to many bulky spots throughout the quilt which was throwing off the computer. Luckily, I picked a medium density quilting pattern so we got through and it looks pretty good. So I need to get out my fabric pens to design my label before attaching binding.

To Do #2 – Make binding for Rose quilt

It’s that time where I need to find the material I set aside to make the binding. I vaguely remember pink…..

To Do #3 – Quilt February Table Runner
Loaded Rose quilt and February table runner

It’s ready to go. I was originally going to use the same pattern and thread I used for the Rose quilt, but I have changed my mind. So I need to wind a new bobbin and I already picked a different pattern.

To Do #4 – Finish EPP – Lost & Found block #19

Hockey starts up this weekend that means I should have some time to work on this project.

To Do #5 – Cut 6/23 & 6/24 365 blocks
June 22nd

Need to cut some more blocks……

To Do #6 – Piece First two rows of Tula Pink Tiny Beast Quilt

With finishing up half the blocks, I feel like it is time to start putting together rows.

To Do #7 – Sew 2 more Churn Dash blocks
Churn Dash quilt rows 1 & 2

I was happy to finish first two rows of this quilt, so now it is time to put together a few more blocks.

To Do #8 – Sew together Row 3 of Hawaiian quilt
Rows 1 & 2 of Hawaiian quilt

These blocks are going together quickly. At first I wasn’t sure if I looked so much white in the quilt. It has grown on me, so it is time to finish the next row. there will be a total of 11 rows.

To Do #9 – Start Mystery SAL clue 9

It was nice wrapping up clue 8 of the SAL. I have to say I moan every time I see that I am going to make a bunch of flying geese. This quilt has had a lot of them. Time to start the final clue!

Wrap Up!

Getting ready to head out of town for a five day weekend – hockey tournament time. I never have very much time at these things so, I am only taking my EPP this time. I’ve kind of fallen out of the habit of working on these hand projects and I would like to get back to it. The weatherman says it is going to be 110F. I am not looking forward to that!

  1. Wow Peggy, Name of the Rose is such a pretty quilt, and your churn dashes are so cute. You always have such beautiful projects and get so much done! I guess Nala is a great helper. 😀 Enjoy your trip out of town, and too bad about the heat.
Thank you for sharing with us at To Do Tuesday!
