Welcome back all my quilty friends! I can not believe how fast this week went. I swear I was just doing this quilty blog. I didn’t get a lot of quilting done this week as I signed myself up for a sewing machine class for a machine I was interested in buying. It was two full days and I had a great sewmate. We laughed and swapped stories. I now have a new quilty friend: Loriann!
I will be linking up with Carol at Quiltschmilt for To Do Tuesday linkup this week. Swing by and check out all the lovely projects. Feel free to join us. It is a great group of ladies!

New Start: Machine Class Project

The Bernina Sewing Machine Class had us doing working on a Spoonflower preprinted panel as we learned how to do different tasks with our machines for two full days. My classmate Loriann donated her’s to my kitties. I learned a lot and had fun with my sewmate!
Project Updates
I don’t have a lot of updates this week but let me share what I do have.
March Monthly Color Challenge Block by Patterns by Jen

This month’s color is aqua.
I am once again using Alison Glass fabrics from my stash. I was thrilled to find these two colors which I felt had a nice contrast. I am looking forward to sewing up this block in the coming days.
Farmers Wife 1920 EPP Project

This block 50 from the book and is called Honey’s Choice. I finished the first pinwheel block and attached the top row sashing. I have three more pinwheel blocks to make.

Just a reminder that this quilt is made with all Alison Glass fabrics. I pull fabrics as I work on each block. I am currently working with purples.

Musings

I was escorted upstairs several times this week and had help loading fabric onto my mini bolts. They also walked around with my friend Janet and I as I gave her a tour of the house and sewing studio.
Exciting news for the sewing studio, I order shades for the rooms that should be cat proof and the electrician is coming to upgrade the lighting in both the long arm room and the sewing room. I can’t wait for this upgrade to the lighting. I will actually be able to sew in the evenings now.
Of course, while at my class which was held at the Sewing Center Store, I did some shopping. I am now a proud owner of a new Bernina 990 and cabinet as well as a new ironing system for the long arm. I couldn’t help but shop for a few other odds and ends. Let’s just say the class wasn’t cheap! LOL! But I left a happy camper. I am anxiously awaiting the delivery of the new machine and cabinet.
The Lake Tahoe quilt retreat is only a few weeks away. It is sneaking up pretty fast. I have to get to reading the cutting instructions for my projects I am taking so I can get a head start on cutting. Both projects are PNW fabric projects. One is an Elizabeth Hartman quilt pattern that has Big Foot and the other is a simpler pattern (just in case I get tired of making trees to go with Big Foot). I ordered some supplies for my travel machine that I had on my list from the last retreat and that should be here anytime.
I hope everyone has a great quilty week!
