It is here. ☔️. The rain has arrived here in the Pacific Northwest. We even had a little sleet yesterday. They said it would snow. I couldn’t see how that would happen. It is just not cold enough. The cool thing about the rain here is the sun often peeks out through out the day. 🌦️ So cool. I even seen the most amazing rainbows🌈
I plan to link up with Carol who is also in the Pacific Northwest just more North. Check out all the projects.

Project Updates
I never seem to get as much sewing time as I want. LOL. 😝 I have my sister here visiting from California this week. We are doing lots of talking as sisters are wont to do. She has graciously let me do all the little things I normally do. So…
FINISH: Not Kitten Around wallhanging by Riley Blake. (WIPGO Quilt Goal complete!!!)

It was a pleasure to have my first finish for 2026. I started this at my quilt retreat last fall and have a final finish this week including binding, label, and sleeve. Love it!
Churn Dash block (#2 of 3 for February)

Got started on this one this week. Once again I am using it as a leader/ender project. This is why it takes so long to finish a block. This is using the fat quarter bundle called Abby Rose.
FINISH: January 2026 Monthly Color Challenge Block by Patterns by Jen

Wrapped up this year’s January block. The color for January was olive and this is the Spool block
START: February Monthly Color Challenge block by Patterns by Jen

I am still using Alison Glass fabric for this challenge. I picked some older fabrics for the GREEN this month. Got everything cut and ready to start sewing!
Autumn Seeds (block 3) by Lori Holt (Bee in My Bonnet)

I continue working on the various steps to complete this pumpkin block. It finishes 18 x 20. I finished the center of the pumpkin as well as finish assembling the vine top. I laid the next units to be sewn which will complete the white pumpkin part of this block.
Farmers Wife 1920 block – Honey’s Choice

This block is shades of purple. It was nice to work on this project. It was my original english paper piecing project. I did all my learning with this project. I am using Alison Glass fabric for this project. My stash of Alison Glass fabrics stretch back to when I started collecting her fabrics and 2016 and beyond. I just received two of her latest collections. I might be able to share next week.

Musings

I have had a lot of help in the sewing room this week. Simba loves to lay by the sewing machine. As long as he stays where he is, I don’t have any issues. Well not many. When getting up there he has a tendency to walk where I have things which means that sometimes they fall on the floor. LOL 😹. Both have been busy inspecting everything I do and commenting. Great little helpers!
Cards

Everything still takes me forever as I am learning how to use the tools. I threw in a bit of artwork on the envelope. Picked my daughter up from the airport and wanted to give her a little something! I assume I will get faster as time goes by.

My sister Cheryl got her card that I shared last week (incomplete). She was kind enough to send a picture of the final card front! I liked how it turned out. I was thinking that heart background would make a fantastic fabric for a quilt….. Maybe this year I can get it printed up.
Everyone have a great week!
