To Do List #35

Whoa! I can’t believe this is the first time I am working on my quilt log and journal this month. I don’t even have my monthly goals written down. I find that crazy to even think. I knew I had been gone for half the month, but I didn’t realize how out of sync I was. LOL!

Well I can’t get everything caught up at once. One step at a time. First step is to get myself organized. Second step is to have a special quilting event this weekend – 24 hours of quilting (#24hoq) starting this Friday thru Sunday. I have enough things to do that it should be good.

To Do Tuesday https://quiltschmilt.ca/

I hope to link up with our new hostess this week for To Do Tuesday. I will be hunting down that info and add later.

What Got Done Since December 27th

Simba was kind enough to write my last To Do Tuesday. Maybe I should have had him writing those while I was gone this month. LOL! Right now he is off napping somewhere so I have the computer all to myself.

I have been able to finish the following:

  1. Scrappiness is Happiness – Tall Pumpkin block
  2. Scrappiness is Happiness – Santa Hat block
  3. Scrappiness is Happiness – Cut Scrap-Apple block
  4. Finished Quilting & Trimming the March Table Runner
  5. Binding made for the March Table Runner
  6. Started the Tula Pink Butterfly Quilt. I have 8 of the 10 blocks done for the first week (Intersection blocks) The last two are under the needle.
  7. Finished my first Leaders & Enders block for a Double Irish Chain quilt
  8. Cut January Monthly Color Challenge (Pink 12 inch block)
  9. Pulled fat quarters for Wednesday Block of the Month but don’t like the background I picked so still looking for a background. Meanwhile I have fallen behind in this weekly block that started January 4th with Pat Sloan.
  10. Started row 9 blocks of the Hawaiian Quilt.

Wrap Up

December

December had no new starts but I did have 3 finishes which included Name of Rose Mystery quilt, Star potholders, and February table runner. I have been using the quilt every day. I need to mail the potholders to my sister Cheryl and I can’t wait to pull out the table runner next week.

2022

For 2022, I started the year with 90 WIPs and ended the year with 90 WIPs. I would consider that a win! I ended up with 10 total finishes for the year as follows:

Quilt Finishes
  • Over & Under lap quilt
  • Jack be Quick bed quilt -> Receiptent was my brother Scott
  • Black & Gold jelly roll lap quilt
  • Name of Rose quilt (it is square so it’s bigger than a lap but smaller than a queen)
Wallhangings

  • Hearts Blooming Applique Banner
This or That finishes
  • Start potholders
  • Fall potholders
  • Feb placemats
  • Feb napkins

For January #3 was called so that is my Mama Gypsy quilt made with Tula Pink Zuma collection. I have the backing that I ordered from the quilt designer for this quilt. It sure would be a wonderful thing to wrap up this year. I have decided to take a more yearly approach with this year’s APQ resolution. I will update the status at the end of the year versus the end of the month called.

I look forward to being back on track next week. Good bye for now from Simba and myself.

  1. Hi Peggy. My gosh but you are so dry organized with all of your stunning projects. I’ve spent over an hour admiring each and every photo. Good job on your list! I wish you success on your list for this week and am already looking forward to seeing your progress photos as you move things along. Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. 😃 Carol

  2. Hi Peggy! I have been neglectful in reading blogs since I stopped hosting TDT, so I am trying to catch up! I just read your “About” page, and now I get a sense of how you are able to produce such a volume of work. You must have inherited your grandmother’s talent for that! What an interesting life you have led. I really enjoyed reading about you and your family. It’s nice to see that Simba is still assisting you. How are Nala and Cali doing?

    1. Hi Linda: Nala is currently curled up on my feet under my lap quilt while I watch Lori Holt how to make a scrap apple block while I am cross stitching. Cali is a little annoyed that the orange kitties have been hogging her meditation time with Mom. So I have to figure out some Cali time!
