Welcome back to this week’s edition of Floss Friday. It is actually Thursday but will be posting tomorrow. I will be on the road (I5) from San Jose, CA to Seattle, WA tomorrow. Average driving time is 14 hours. So I thought I would prep the blog today to post tomorrow. Here we go!
Starts & Finishes
No starts or finishes this week.
WIP Update
Most days I did double duty since this is a “short” month.
2024 SJ Temperature Library by Kristi’s Corner
I got started on the January shelf and found it hard to put it down. Looking at the knick knacks, I think the first one is a clock and the second one looks like an egg on a stand??? As you can see, it was pretty much in the 60’s most of the month unitl the last week when it warmed up.
I never wrote down the fabric name that I am using, so I still have to figure that out. 🙄
January Month to Month Barn by Stitching with the Housewives
After finishing the January shelf, I pulled this one out of the basket. I felt good finishing the roof. I spent the rest of the evening using up all the thread on the half dozen needles I had out for this project.
I discovered (I forgot honestly) that I had bought gingham fabric for this series but had it in the “to scan” bag. In my rush, to get this started in January, I bought plain 14 ct white aida from my local craft store. #sigh. Oh well, I am sure I will find a use for the 6 packages of gingham. LOL!
I am enjoying this cute winter stitch.
June Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives
This Classic Colorworks red floss is fabulous. It is called Licorice Red. It is such a rich color. I can almost stitch a strawberry without referring to the pattern. Only problem is whenever I get cocky, I look and realize they changed the strawberry slightly. Keeping me on my toes.
This is getting close to being done. I am working on the “top” border which consists of two layers of strawberries. I am halfway done with the bottom layer.
Autumn Baskets #2 by Hands on Design
They symmetry of this chart sucks me in. The picture isn’t doing the colors justice. Makes me sad. I finished stitching the dark green with those funky squares. I almost done with the light orange outline. These will evenutally be three rows of stars. I love working on these.
WIPGO Project: Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticoure
I was feeling very accomplished to finish Day 8 and even finished the basic outline of Day 9 which will be an adorable gnome. Sweet stitch.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
As you have already gathered, Friday morning will find me racing north between storms. It snowed last night and today in Seattle but tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 40’s. Saturday another storm front will hit with more rain and snow.
The plan is to take my other WIPGO project that you guys picked “Wintertime”. I was thinking about starting it tonight, but am opting to just wait and start it there. There won’t be much stitch time on my travel days, but that’s okay. Meanwhile, I will chip away at on only one time pile which will leave me time to go back to anything that I feel is close to being done. I also have two other new starts to work on when I get pack – Year of Celebration Season 2 and Monthly Markings.
Plans for this week:
- Work on Snow Village one time
- Start Wintertime WIPGO project
- Finish WIPGO goal of work on 5 times on Winter Time
- Work on July Truckin Along one time
- Start January Year of Celebration Season 2
I did get my second package of happy mail yesterday which was my stuff for Fabulous House – Green House floss and my fabric for the Winter Baskets.
I saw on Instagram yesterday that three more tiny towns will be released at Market. One is a Frosty Tiny Town which I requested (she took requests). March or April, I plan to start Blooming Tiny Town. I think I have gathered all the supplies for that one. I checked her website, but she doesn’t have anything up yet probably because they have not officially released.
Everyone enjoy your weekend and stay safe.

Temperature Library is so cute, love this version of a temperature project. You’ve got me wanting Classic Colorworks threads now, that Licorice Red is beautiful. Also peeked at their silk threads – oh my goodness I could spend money easily on those! Glad the weather allowed you to make your trip – enjoy!
