Happy Friday! It’s been two weeks since I last shared my cross stitch. I have continued working on my Final Finish for the Summer Baskets. If you want to see where I am at in the process, check it out in To Do Tuesday #62.
Let’s take a look at where I am this month.
Starts & Finishes
Things are on track this month for my planned starts and finishes. It feels good.
START & FINISH: September Year of Celebration by Hands on Designs
This series is being stitched on 16 ct beige aida with called for floss which includes DMC, Weeks Dye Works, Gentle Arts, and Classic Colorworks. What a fun little stitch! My favorite part of this stitch was the owl.
FINISH: June Truckin Along by Stitching with the Housewives
It felt so good to finally finish this one. I don’t remember when I started it but I know it has been awhile. This series is being stitched on 14 ct chalkboard black aida with called for Classic Colorworks floss. My favorite part of this stitch was the fun checkerboard border.
WIP Updates
I ended up not having time to stitch on either travel days when I went to Denver and on Friday just got an hour to stitch which wasn’t much at all. All the rest went as planned. Let’s take a look.
WIPGO Project: Snowman Collector – The Needleworker by Cottage Garden Samplings
This is the project I took to Denver. I had visions of actually finishing it. I am such an optimist! The hockey game schedule was pretty tight with very little down time. We were schedule to play 6 games during the weekend which is two more than normal. I did get in some quality time on the last day as we lost in quarter finals. They boys played well.
I spent my time filling in the snowman. I wasn’t expecting it to be such a challenge to find all those random unstitched squares. LOL! I will have to double check when I think I am done to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Love how this is turning out. Can’t wait to finish soon.
We are on targe for our WIPGO goal of five nights this month. Just one left!
WIPGO Project: Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
I was able to finish the dark teal on this page (June). Now it is time to start filling in with the light teal. I’ve already started working on switching to the other file that MFE sent me when I lost the link for the last three months. Instead of 12 pages, there is only 9 now.
June Snapshot by Pine Mountain Designs
Almost done with this “snapshot” for June. Just need to do a few finishing touches and finish the frame, then I will be off to the next “snapshot”
June Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives
It felt good to finish up the house and almost the entire center finally. I just need to fill in some strawberries and Voila! Forward progress for sure.
Mr August – A Calendar Gnome by Charlie’s Needle
Whoo Hoo! I finally finished the beehive and all the flowers on TOP of the flower cart. Even had time to start the chicken.
Honey of a Tiny Town by Heart in Hand
Almost done with the right side of town. Just a couple of buildings left. I have decided to wait to add all the bees at the same time after I get the buildings done. I figure less chance of a mistake. LOL! It’s coming together.
June Stackables by It’s Sew Emma (Fat Quarter Shop)
I ended up staying up until 2 in the morning to finish that beach ball. I just wanted to mentally check it off. Only a bucket and a shell left for June.
August Sampler of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
I made great progress on this last night. I just need to finish the sandcastle border and the swirl border. After that, just a little backstitching and this will be done. It is one of my monthly goals to finish. I think I am going to make it. I really like stitching the sandcastle. CCW Wagon Wheel is the color and I like how it stitches out.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
With only nine days left in the month, there is still a lot to be done including getting some time in on my old fall WIPs that I pulled this month. I have them lined up for this week. Here is the plan for this week:
- Fruit of Plenty tonight
- Work on Temperature Butterfly outlines for July & August
- Oracle Quaker Halloween (I’m further than I remembered)
- Autumn Beauties
- Let’s Talk Autumn
- Finish August Sampler of the Month
- Last night on Snowman Collector – The Needleworker for WIPGO
- Prep Summer Baskets for Big Stitch quilting
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Hi Peggy! I have to agree with Linda, as I also love the Needleworker Snowman. What a great finish your June Truckin’ is. It’s so cute and those colors represent June so well. Good luck with all of your cross-stitch projects. You’ve been moving them along quite nicely. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Thanks Roseanne! The Needleworker is one of my favorites as well. Thank you for all your kind words.
I LOVE the Needleworker Snowman! I love all your projects though, and so impressed with your progress on everything. Glad you had a good hockey trip. Have a great weekend!
Thanks Linda!
