Welcome to another edition of Floss Friday. It has been fairly productive week with a little catch up on the menu. Let’s take a look.
Starts & Finishes
I was very pleased to wrapup my planned finishes this month.
FINISHES: April Stackables by FQS It’s Sew Emma
I was excited to finish this one up this week. It is so cute with the bunny who was a quick stitch. Those blue eyes just draw you in. This project was stitched on 14 ct Fabric Flair Marbelled Pine Board with the called for Classic Colorworks floss.
FINISHES: Big Hearted Tiny Town by Heart in Hand
I just loved stitching this fun town. I even got the buttons on this week. while they are cute, I thought it looked good without them. This was stitched on 16 ct Whimsey by Picture This Plus (purple) with called for floss which included DMC, Weeks Dye Works, and Classic Colorworks. Can’t wait to start the next one!
FFO: Americana Pillow (Stitch Quarterly Project for 2021)
It felt so good to get my second FFO. I spent most of this week working on the quilty project with wrapping up yesterday. I rummaged through my patriotic stash to come up with this cute pillow. I ended up quilting it on each side of the seams with a white varigeated thread. I was very pleased with how it turned out. I made this a envelope pillow electing to use the cute selvage versus hemming the outside piece.
Finishing this project sure does inspire me to think about finishing other projects.
WIP Updates
I got a little behind this month with I went to Reno. None of my planned stitching ever happened. Sadly, I only stitched once on The Needleworker. I was able to touch every active project though which is progress.
WIPGO Project: Snow Village by Country Cottage Needleworks
Today is June 30th so I have one more day to stitch on this project to complete my wipgo goal. It has been moving along pretty nicely and I am super pleased with my unexpected progress on this lovely winter project.
Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
I had to squeeze in two nights on this lovely stitch. I only got to spend an hour each time. I am amazed at what you can get done in just an hour! Looking at the end of last month and end of this month, great progress was made.
2023 San Jose Temperature Butterfly by Stitchin Mommy
I am not sure if I love the May butterfly. It is definitely colorful. We are still on track.
June Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives
While I am pleased with the progress, I wish I had more time to focus on this lovely stitch. I only spent an hour on it. Any progress is better than none!
June Truckin along by Stitching with the Housewives
Another one with just an hour to work on it. I realized I need to start on the truck before I can’t tell the top from the bottom. LOL! This series I only have June and July left to do.
October Cottage of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
The last in the series that I need to finish and it seems to be taking forever! I know it is not really. I am close to finishing the cottage and then everything seems to go so much faster. Plus I had to start this over when I accidently turned it upside down after finishing the roof. Unstitching takes time so another reason why it feels like it is taking an abnormal amount of time. Next month!
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
I have to finish working on my June WIPGO project and then I will have completed all of my WIPGO goals for June. We will review them next Friday and I will reveal all the new WIPGO goals for July.
I need to take a look at my planned starts to make sure I don’t need any fabric or floss to proceed. I have to decide on which Stackables I am going to work on next and which Tiny Town I want (or can) start on.
The plan is currently:
- Snow Village for the 5th and final time in June
- Mr July
- Let’s Talk Autumn Framed Chart
- October Cottage of the Month
- Start Hello There July
- Start July Year of Celebration
- Summer Basket
- June Truckin Along
I just realized that the July 2023 calendar I was using is off and I have to renumber it. Crazy right. LOL!
Have a great 4th of July! We are currently in the midst of a heat wave. They seem to always be here for every Fourth of July. I am sure that it is not really a fact, but it sure feels like it. Enjoy!!!!

I should never look at your blog posts because I am so tempted by all the patterns. I particularly love any of the “towns” that you do. That Tiny Town series is pretty cute. Looks like Simba is a great assistant. Enjoy your weekend!
