Happy Friday everyone! It is a crazy thought that we are already in June. Update on the water leak. The subflooring of the shore was a sponge so they tore that out as well. As of 9:30 last night, the new shower floor and pan have been built and waterproofed. Now I have to wait at least 24 hours before they move forward. So since it is Friday, I probably won’t see anyone until Monday. I hate living in limbo but am very happy that the project is moving forward. I hope that next Friday everything will be done.
Now for some stitchy talk. I missed a project last week so we will show it this week in the WIP update section. Overall May was a good month. I started six new projects and finished five projects. Because of the house full of contractors, I do not have my paper cross stitch journal so not sure where I stand on Ending WIPS. I will touch base next week hopefully.
Starts & Finishes
I had no new finishes this week but I do have a start.
JUNE WIPGO START: JUNE HELLO THERE BY HANDS ON DESIGN
I ran out of umph last night. I was so close to finishing this one all in one sitting. I am sad this picture doesn’t really show the thread colors very well. One of these days I am going to get my act together to have a special place to take photos of my cross stitch and quilt projects.
I am stitching on 16 ct aida with the called for DMC floss – 2814, 563, & 415. It actually looks pretty cool. I am definitely finishing this one tonight. I usually would wait until next week.
WIP Updates
Overall I feel like I had a pretty good week despite the contractors at the house all hours of the day and night. I am not complaining because it means it will be completed sooner. Let’s take a look.
Prim Stitch by Bee in My Bonnet (Lori Holt)
This one is actually close to being finished but not close enough to focus on the finish. I have been working on the kitty which has been fun.
Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery (2021 SAL)
I got in all three sittings on this project as planned. I feel like I am made great progress this month.
April Stackable by It’s Sew Emma (Fat Quarter Shop)
I am working my way through this one. My favorite part so far was the flower. I feel like the Egg is out of proportion with the rest of the items. I really enjoyed stitching the egg. I changed the flower center color. They had the egg pink as the center which was almost exactly the same color as the flower petals. I had some CCW Rosy Glow close by so I used it.
It is possible I could finish this in June. There is only the carrot (just need to fill in), bunny, and bucket left to do. I will keep you updated.
Snowman Collector – The Needleworker by Cottage Garden Samplings
Once again my secret goal for May was to work on it at least three times (same secret goal for June). This is a pretty big dense stitch. The robe was very intricate (but fun) to stitch. I made sure to spend on evening doing just white otherwise, I will get derailed. LOL! I got in the groove with stitching the gray diamond patterns on the snowman. I feel so much better now that there is at least a head.
I did have to do some unstitching and restitching as when I came around on his head things didn’t line up. Of course the mistake was in the beginning of the head. Typical.
Tea Thyme a Fat Quarter Shop Stitch Quarterly project
I have to be honest. I have found working on this one a teeny tiny bit boring. So I have been procrastinating wherever possible. This month it didn’t even get a whole evening to itself. It shared with the June Calendar Crates.
It did dawn on me that once I finish the cup, the rest should be quick and easy. That helps with the motivation since the cup is almost done.
June Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives
I have so many June stitches going right now. There are moments I do not know where to focus my time. Because of that, I must say it short changed the project in May. I hope to do better in June.
WIPGO Project: Autumn Beauties a Fat Quarter Shop 2020 MSAL
I was sad to put this one back in the closet today. I am super happy with the progress made on the WIPGO project. I am feeling pretty confident I will be able to finish it this fall. So Cool! I still have to decide what I am going to put on the sign. That decision is for another day though.
See below for a WIP picture as of May 31st.
WIPGO May & June
It has been fun playing along with this WIP get it done. I have been lucky that the draw has included a project quick and easy and a project that requires a lot of work for May and again for June. I am so glad that I haven’t had two easy or two hard in the same month. I am sure it will happen. So far the random cross stitch gods have been on my side.
May Project 23
Goal was to start and finish in May the May 9 Patch by Primrose Cottage Stitches. Total WIN!
May Project #25
This project was the Autumn Beauties Mystery Sew Along 2021 that I actually started in Fall of 2022. My original goal was to finish it. The first night I stitched on it, I knew I needed to reset my goal as I hadn’t gotten very far on the Fall start. So I reset my goal to work on it five times during May. I finished that goal on Wed, May 31st. I felt a sense of satisfaction when I actually ended on page 3 of 4.
June Project #4
Please look in Starts for the current photo of this project since I started it yesterday. This is June Hello There by Hands on Design. My WIPGO goal is to start and finish in June. I almost have my first win for the month!
June Project #16
This is the Snow Village project by Country Cottage Needleworks. I am very excited to continue working on this during June. Just taking a peak at the above, I need to finish the banner, top border, and trees for the Center Banner. My WIPGO is to work on this five times in June. I have scheduled this out for Fridays already. My first time will be tonight. I am excited to work on this again before winter.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
I have planned out most of the month already. I hope to work on Snowman Collector, Just My Type, and Fruit of Plenty three times this month. I am hoping to finish both Just My Type and Big Hearted Tiny Town which is moving pretty quickly.
I have planned five starts which include Hello June, June Celebration, June 9 Patch, June Snapshot, and Let’s Talk Summer Framed chart. The first three will also be finished this month.
The current plan for this next week is to:
- Work on Snow Village
- Start June Year of Celebration
- Finish June Hello There
- Start June Nine Patch
- Start June Snap Shot
- Start Let’s Talk Summer framed chart
- Work on Fruit of Plenty
- Work on Just My Type
I need to do another thread order, I am running low on a number of flosses for Snowman Collectors and I will review the next 3 charts for the Hello There Series, Year of Celebration, and Nine Patch.
Wish everyone a fun and relaxing weekend. I know a lot of people are doing the Red, White, and June theme this month but I am going to stick to my plan. I am working very hard to finish a number of series that I started in 2020 and 2021. Focus…..

Limbo is not a good place to be during house repairs/construction, but at least sounds like it’s moving forward! Love seeing your pretty projects. I thought about you last night as I picked up some cross stitch for the first time in months. It’s a Christmas project and I can’t wait to finish it, because it’s kind of boring to just do white sparkly floss on dark blue pre-printed fabric. Have a great weekend!
