It didn’t feel like a productive week, yet I worked on something every day. Maybe with all that sunshine outside, I am just antsy to get out in the sun!
Starts & Finishes
I had two starts and one finish this week. Look at that! I was productive. LOL!
FINISH: HELLO THERE JANUARY by Hands on Designs
It felt good to finish this one. Once the word was done, it went pretty quickly. It was nice to be done. I am going to wait to add the buttons until later so I don’t lose any.
This was stitched on 16 ct white aida with the called for DMC threads
START: FEBRUARY NINE PATCH by Primrose Cottage Stitches
This is such a quick stitch and I hated putting it down. I finished three out of the four colors. I just have light pink left to stitch and I wanted to do it so badly last night, but this project was not on the list to complete for the week.
This is being stitched on 25 ct white lugana with the called for threads.
START: LET’S TALK SPRING – HOOP by Hands on Designs
Prepping for this project was a bit of gymnastics. I ended up organizing all my cross stitch fabrics while looking for my 16 ct black aida. I had used up all the precut project pieces. I finally found the black but could not remember what sizes I needed for the other Let’s Talk so just cut for this project.
This project is stitched on 16 ct black aida with the called for DMC floss.
Weekly WIP Update
My WIPGO projects this month are Shabby Winter Calendar and Let’s Talk Spring. The plan is to work on for at least 5 hours this month for each or finish.
Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore
This week this project was a little frustrating. I was working on the border for Day 3 and realized that it wasn’t going to line up. I made mistakes coming and going on this one. I took out the original mistake but made another when I restitched. I took that out and finally all is good. Just one little stitch threw everything off. This week the plan is to start Day 3. At this point, I don’t even remember what Day 3 is. LOL! It will be a nice surprise.
2023 SJ Temperature Butterflies by Stitchin with Mommy
I finished outlining the January butterfly including all the “day” spots. That wasn’t part of my original plan. I also finished my spreadsheet so it converts temperature into dmc color. I was able to finish one of my colors for the whole month of January. It was actually fun to see.
Prim Stitch Series by Lori Holt (Bee in my Bonnet)
I was able to start chart 10 this week. My goal for the month is to finish the flower. I got a great start on it this week, but I am not sure if the monthly goal will be meet since I have so many projects for a short month plus I will be on the road for five days. Flowers are always fun!
Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
My goal this month with #mfesal2021 is to work on three times for at least one hour. This week I got in much more than an hour and made some real headway on the dense border I have been working on.
Upcoming Plans and Thoughts
I will get in a full week before hitting the road for a hockey tournament in Arizona. I am not sure if I will get a post out next week as I haven’t seen our tournament schedule yet.
Meanwhile, the plan is to continue working on my two WIPGO projects this week – Shabby Winter Calendar and Let’s Talk Spring. I have set aside some time to continue working on Fruit of Plenty as well as finish February Nine Patch. I also plan to work on Mr July (A Calendar Gnome), August Snapshot, as well as Snow Village Banner.
I had already decided to take the Snowman Collector – The Needleworker as my sole project for Arizona. Maybe I should be taking something else, but this relieves me of all guilt that I haven’t worked on it for several weeks.
Good luck with your stitchy projects. Stay safe and talk with all of you soon.

I am just in love with Fruit of Plenty. Those greens and the subtle differences between the shades – so soothing and pretty. I know I say the same thing every time, but your projects are just beautiful! Good luck prepping for the upcoming tournament. 😀
