Floss Friday #170

Hello my stitchy friends! It has been a wet and busy week. It was nice to find some time to stitch and unwind. I can not believe how fast February is flying by!

WIP Updates

Made some great progress this week. Let’s take a look.

WIPGO Project #5: Fabulous House: The Castle by Cottage Garden Samplings
Fabulous House: The Castle WIP 2/13/2026

Made some great progress on this one this week. It is just a joy to work on. I am up to 1200 stitches and my goal is 2000. Looking good so far!

Sweetly Sayin’ Valentine’s Day by Primrose Cottage
Sweetly Sayin’ Valentine Day WIP 2/14/2026

Of course, I couldn’t resist stitching on Valentine’s Day. I just wish that I could finish up this free chart from Primrose Cottage. Loving it!

Fieldguide to Dragons by Climbing Goats Design

One night this week I was watching the live person version of How To Train Your Dragon and couldn’t resist working on this one. Still plugging away at the green dragon!

JAN WIPGO #2: Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore

Still working on finishing this project. I finished 25% of the foot picture. I liked making the tree and am looking forward to stitching the bird.

WIPGO #22: Calendar Gnomes: Mr. April by Charlie’s Needle
Mr. April WIP 2/17/2026

I got started on his beard this week. I outlined all of it and am now filling it in. There are a lot of soft colors in this one.

2011 Santa by Prairie Schooler
Prairie Schooler 2011 WIP 2/18/2026

I just can’t let this one go until it is finished. So finished up her feet and legs and was able to start on his gift bag. I know Christmas has come and gone. I am decide that it would be Christmas all year this year so expect to see more.

Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embrodiery

I just couldn’t put this one down this week. I finished that bottom row center motif. It sure felt good. I am close to finishing page 8 (of 9). Now it is time to work on the filled in border. Almost on the home stretch.

Plans & Reflections

I continue to plug away, rotating out projects to work on each month. I have not worked on quite everything I planned yet this month. So we are headed into the final week:

  • Crescent City Velarius
  • 2025 SJ Moon Phases
  • Snowman Collector: The Postman
  • Winter Camper
  • Penguin Advent SAL
  • Start & Finish of July Square Dance
  • Start of 2026 temperature stitch: 2026 Solar System
  • Start Ocean Wonders SAL
Artwork

I spent time drawing this week focusing on zentangles. Here are a few.

I introduced my sister to zentangles this week and I think she liked it. She has been working on one design. Doing a little each day. It is going to be great! I find it very therapeutic. Meet with my art group today. 4 (out of 5) signed up for this year’s Bonnie Christine’s Immersion class. We are so excited and decided to make our own study group. I like the idea of some of these zentangles becoming a fabric collection.

Sister Visit

My sister arrived on Sunday and goes home this Sunday. While not overwhelming, we have been busy. She has been gracious in letting me stick pretty close to my routine and has even joined me for many of the activities – exercise class, Starbucks run, shopping for furniture, etc. We have also cooked for each other and tonight will be cooking together. I will be sad to say goodbye on Sunday.

We also were able to spend some time with my daughter Cailtin as well as our nephew Ian. Fun! We should have taken pictures. I always think about it afterwards 🤪📸

I am off to squeeze in some more sister time. Have a great weekend everyone. Until next week!
