Floss Friday #159

Hope all my American friends had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. Mine was awesome. Good company. Good food. I did have a bit of a food coma afterwards. Rained most of the day but since I never had to leave the house, it didn’t bother me much. Hope all of you had a great holiday!

Overall, this was a good stitching week. I even finished one of my WIPGO goals for November. With just 3 days left, I hope to finish my second goal. Let’s take a look at this week’s projects.

Starts & Finishes

Just one start and one finish this week. I had planned to have two starts, but maybe next week.

START: 2025 Stitch Quarterly Project: Fox Trot by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)

Just a reminder that I am attempting to get started a bunch of fall charts that I have collected in the last couple of years. This one happens to be a recent release by Fat Quarter Shop. It is done in the quaker style (random objects with meaning) versus a scene. I liked these fall flowers witht he fox and acorns. It was fun starting the fox. I am sure it will be very motivating for next year to finish. I really loved this fabric from Fiber on a Whim – 14 ct Wheat. It is a good cream tan neutral. Floss is DMC called for.

FINISH: November Calendar Crates Small chart by Stitching with the Housewives
Finish Nov Calendar Crates Small 11/26/2025

Each Calendar Crates come with a Small and Large chart. I was able to finish the small chart this week. Isn’t it cute? That is Nala helping model the finish on 14ct chalkboard black with Classic Colorworks floss.

WIP Updates

I have almost finished all of my WIP goals for the month of November. I have another four starts on my list and my WIPGO goal Shabby Winter Calendar left. So let’s look at what I accomplished this week.

November WIPGO Project 22: March Month 2 Month by Stitching with the Housewives

I spent a lot of nights working on this finishing my 2000 stitches for my November goal. I did it!!! This one will go back into the closet until March or it is pulled as a 2026 WIPGO project. It is coming along nicely!

WIPGO Project 3: Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore

Wrapped Day 16 this week. It is taking approximately two days for each “Day” so I don’t think I am going to be able to finish my WIPGO goal in November. We will be giving it all the effort for the last three days of November. I loved how this little red and white sweater turned out. Adorable!

November Stackables by It’s Sew Emma

I really should not have taken the time to work on this one but I was feeling very fallish so I did anyway. It felt good finishing the pumpkin. All that is left is the bucket. This one will be moved to the side so I can start the final one – December.

December WIPGO Projects

While the organizer hasn’t posted all the pretty graphics for this month. We know what the projects are by default: Projects 1, 13, & 25

Let’s take a look at what those are for me.

Project 1: Snow Village by Country Cottage Needleworks
Snow Village Finish 2/11/2025

Well as you can guess, I already finished this project earlier this year. So yea for me! I need to look into making this into a wall hanging so I can display it.

Project 13: Spring Baskets by Hands on Design

The goal for December will be to finish my second chart and to start the third chart. I finished the first chart earlier this year. Overall the goal will be to work on this group for five nights.

Project 25: Santa’s House by Cottage Garden Samplings
Santa’s House WIP 10/8/2025

The goal will be to finish this project from the Fabulous Houses series. I have about 1500 stitches left to do. This will be my second finish from this series. I am looking forward to finishing this up.

Leftover 2025 WIPGO goals to Complete

While I still have time left to in November, it seems highly unlikely I will be able to finish my last November so I will be including it. Actually, I did pretty darn good in 2025. Besides the December projects, I only have two other projects left to finish.

November WIPGO Project 3: Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore
Shabby Winter Calendar WIP 11/24/2025

As of today I still have Day 17 & 18 to do. I know I will get started on Day 17 today, but not sure how it will go. I may just focus on finishing one of my Fall projects instead. Check in with me next week to find out.

May WIPGO Project 19: Winter Camper by Bobbie G Designs
WIP 8/27/2025

The goal was to work on five days. I just went through all my notes and I worked on it three times since May 2025 so I have two more nights to work on it to finish this goal for 2025.

Plans & Reflections

Quote

While most of WIP goals are done, my starts and finishes goals are not. Here is what is left that I will be working on this week:

  • WIPGO: Shabby Winter Calendar Day 17 & 18
  • Start & Finish June Square Dance
  • Start Harvest Tiny Town
  • Start Oakley Acorn
  • Start Nov Mo 2 Mo button chart
  • Finish November Stackables
  • Finish House on Pumpkin Hill

Meanwhile, I have some December things pulled already. I have all the projects from Winter Gatherings Retreat that still need to be stitched. Since they are winter, I will have to decide how many will be started in December and how many in January. I have some Christmas projects that I also want to stitch. I have the mystery ornament Stitch-A-Long with Chantelle’s 141 designs. There are five and I think I will need to decide once again, which ones.

I also signed up for the Climbing Goats Advent Stitch-A-Long which starts on December 1st. So many decisions to make from so many fun projects.

I am going to sign off now so I can get to all this fun! Until next week.
