Welcome to this week’s stitchy update. Other than finding my supplies, things are rolling along with all my cross stitch projects. I worked on almost everything I hoped to this week. Let’s take a look.

WIP Updates
I focused on finishing my monthly goal for each project this week. Hit all of them right on the nose except for my big WIPGO Goal. Let’s take a look:
Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore

First up is Shabby Winter Calendar. I had a goal to finish Day 12. Mission accomplished. It is hard to believe that I am halfway now!
Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery

I had a goal of 400 stitches for this month and I blew that goal out of the water when I finished page 7 of 9 at 911 stitches. I am now 80% done with this project.
Snowman Collector: The Shepherd by Cottage Garden Samplings

Since I was feeling good working on tis project last week, I felt inspired to continue working on it this week. I really wanted to complete the coat. I got very close…. I definitely hit my 400 stitch goal.
Calendar Gnomes: Mr. January by Charlie’s Needle

I basically set my goal for 400 stitches this month because I have such a huge goal for my WIPGO project. I happily hit that with this project as well. I finished up the gnome (except his eyes) and worked on the sled and the snow a little more.
Christmas Calendar by Tiny Modernist

My goal was to finish Day 3 and I was so excited that I was going to finish in one sitting. Then I realized I made a mistake and had to unstitch everything I did so I ended up finishing it last night. That was a major relief.
WIPGO Project: Crescent City Velaris by Woven Wild Crafts

I have a huge goal of 2000 stitches for this project for this month. I am working on 18 ct aida and with all the blues being close, sometimes it is hard. This is still my first full coverage project that I have started for my daughter Caitlin. I have been working 10×10 but I feel like it is sloooow. I have tried groups of colors which have been okay, but last night I decided to finish all of the main color for the page I am working on. It has gone pretty good. Even though I finished Day 3 of Christmas Calendar before starting, I was able to stitch 400 stitches before going to bed. Nice progress.
Caitlin’s WIP UPdates
I was at Caitlin’s house last weekend and I took pictures of her current projects to share with you.
National Parks Series: Olympic from Stitching Across America by Lior Zochovizky

She finished this little mini stitch of Olympics National Park recently. It is from a book I bought her last year and she has been stitching the ones her & Jannes have been to together. Looks good!
Crescent City Fireheart by Woven Wild Crafts

This is from the series of 3 Crescent City full coverage stitches. This series is really Caitlin’s project. I offered to start the blue one for her. Back in December she was still working page 1. Here she is almost halfway done with page 2. It looks fabulous.
Reflections
I thought about my goals for the month after last week’s blog and I have updated my goals on the sidebar for May. You can take a look if you want. I didn’t touch my 2025 SJ Temperature Moon Phases project last week as anticipated so I will be picking it up this week. This is the plan for the upcoming week:
- 2025 SJ Temperature Moon Phases
- Crescent City Velaris at least another 400 stitches but hopefully 600
- Spring Basket #1 at least 400 stitches
- Spring Stitching Season at least 400 stitches
- Santa’s House 400 Stitches
- Start February Square Dance
- Find my cross stitch WIPs so can pull Winter Camper and Prairie Schooler Santas
- Frosty Tiny Town finish
Reviewing the list, it seems like an ambitious week but doable. We will see how it goes.
Still working on unpacking everything here. I finished all the “bedroom” boxes and am missing a ton of stuff. So I am assuming it is in a different room. The hunt continues!
Have a great weekend. The weather here in Pacific Northwest is going to be fabulous – Sunny & 70.
