While things are slow moving on the quilting front as I find and organize my 50 boxes of stuff, I have all of my active cross stitch WIPS with me. Now I haven’t been able to find my extra needles, my floss stasth, my fabric stash, or my inactive wips, kits, or patterns, that still leaves me with a lot to work with. Let’s take a look at what I worked on this week.
Starts & Finishes
I initially thought I had nothing to share for this category. I already forgot that last Friday I finished a project!
Stitch Quarterly: Hello Summer by It’s Sew Emma

Woohoo! What a nice way to start the week with this fun and colorful finish. So much fun!!!!! 😎
April WIPGO Results

Project 4: Santa 2010 by Priairie Schooler

Alas, I was not able to even start this project for the month. The hunt for the boxes with my cross stitch kits are still underway. When I find it, I will add to the rotation so I can get this one done.
Project 10: September Stackables by It’s Sew Emma

As you all know, for almost 3 plus weeks I didn’t do much stitching or quilting while in the final stages of moving from California to Washington. I set a very lofty WIPGO goal of completing this project in April. Sadly, that didn’t happen. BUT. I made some great progress once I got rolling. Here is the beginning and ending. While it may not look like much, that sign took a while. It felt good to finish it. I have already worked on it in May and I will share that in the WIP Update section.
WIP Updates
If you have been following me, you know that I didn’t do much during April because of the big move. I set a goal for myself to work on every active WIP in my possession even if it was only an hour. Just touching a project can really be motivating. Let me share that progress with you.
September Stackables by It’s Sew Emma

Since this was the only WIPGO project I had at my fingertips, I did work on it multiple times for at least an hour at a time (or until my iPad died). The stackables series includes a bucket and 4 related items and I usually start in the middle. (I don’t know why. It makes me happy on this series). I have completed two of the five items and am halfway done with a third. While I may not have completed this in April as planned, I feel like I am on track to finish it in May.
February Month 2 Month by Stitching with the Housewives

I was pleased to get a little time on this project as I was able to almost finish the upper barn. The colors are so pretty.
Spring Stitching Season by Stitching with the Housewives

I have started three of these so far and not gotten far. I am hoping to get at least the house done this time before moving on to Summer.
Calendar Gnome: Mr January by Charlie’s Needle

It felt good to touch this project. Have I mentioned that I am in love with this linen. It has probably been the easiest linen I have ever worked with. I guess brands do matter. I only had an hour. I was able to get a bit done on the sled.
Christmas Calendar by Tiny Modernist

It was really cool to start on Day 3 of this project originally started in 2020. This is the restart of that project in 2023. I have kept it out this year with the intention of finish a day per month. I have been semi successful. Here is me starting Day 3. This little gingerbread man is gonna be cute!
Frosty Tiny Town by Heart in Hand

This was another project I only got an hour on so I filled in the house. All that is left for this house is the smoke from the chimney and a cloud. Almost done with this project.
Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore

I was able to finish in the vase in my hour on this project. I should be able to finish up Day 12 in May.
Fabulous House: Santa’s House by Cottage Garden Samplings

I have been working on filling in the second story of the house. I have most of the detail done but the peak of the roof still needs to be outlined and one more accent added. It is looking good.
Spring Basket #1 by Hands on Design

This has not been a very flowy design this time. Too many changes in color but it sure looks pretty!
Snowman Collector: The Shepherd by Cottage Garden Samplings

Added another patch outline for the right side of the coat and worked on filling in the coat.
2025 SJ Temperature Moon Phases by Climbing Goat Designs

Slugging away at finishing the February Moons. I am almost done but the battery on my iPad died which meant it was bedtime. 😆. Last year’s bookshelf seemed so much easier but maybe it is because I actually started on time and I have had a lot of interruptions with this move. Loving the colors!
Postscript

I won’t be able to finish some of my May goals if I don’t find the box of cross stitch in the stack of 50 in the sewing studio. Meanwhile, I do have things to work on. I started a couple of days ago working on what my goals are for May but haven’t finalized them.
So I don’t get behind, I thought I would work on all the current WIPs as I finalize the goals list.
- WIPGO: Crescent City Velari (monthly goal is 2000 stitches so this going to be a big ask and I gotta start somewhere)
- Shabby Winter Calendar (like to finish Day 12)
- Christmas Calendar – finish Day 3
- Fruit of Plenty
- The Shepherd
- Mr. January
- 2025 SJ Temperature Moon Phases
I hope you all enjoyed the eye candy this week. It was alot with working on 2-4 projects every day for at least an hour to get through all the projects by end of April. I didn’t do the starts or finishes I wanted in April, but all things considered, I am happy. Until next week! Have a great weekend.
