Friday was a busy day so I am running a wee bit behind getting this up. Thank you for allowing me to share what I have been working on this week in my cross stitch world. Let’s jump in.
Starts & Finishes
No new finishes this week but I did get started on two more from the planned 9 starts for this month.
START: November Snapshot by Pine Mountain Designs
It was definitely motivating to get started on this final month of 12 this week. And it is November! I did have some unstitching to do as I got off one square but all is good. I am stitching on 10 ct Vintage Oatmeal cloth with the provided floss from Fat Quarter Shop.
START: November Year of Celebration Season 2 by Hands on Design
I don’t know if you can tell but those are turkeys! I got more done than I hoped I could. This month the stitching (at least on the turkeys) seemed to flow well. I am stitching on 16 dirty aida with the called for floss.
WIP Updates
Met all my goals for this week which is awesome. I was able to get a decent amount of stitches on everything. Let’s take a look.
WIPGO Project: Winter Baskets #1 by Hands on Design
I am so pleased with how fast this is stitching up the dark blue is really helping to stitch and break this up into sections. My white is not showing up well. This is 16 ct stone aida which is the same color as my Fabulous House series. I knew the white would not stand out but I am okay with this. The blues are perfect with the brown accent and pop of pink. I am using DMC thread.
WIPGO Project: Calendar Gnome: Mr. September by Charlie’s Needle
Woohoo! I finished the stack of books and owl and got the flowers mostly done and the worm 🐛. Isn’t he cute? I need to finish filling in the apples in the bucket and that will be all done. Can’t wait to work on this again this week!
2024 SJ Temperature Library by Kristi’s Corner
While I would have loved to have finished my knick knacks while working on the November 1st to 6th books, I had to stall as most of my evening was used stitching the shelf. Now that the shelf is done, I will be able to finish the knick knacks when I do the next six days this coming week.
Autumn Stitching Season by Stitching with the Housewives
Working on this evenweave cloth has been a pleasure to work with. I am going to have to check to see what brand this is. I find evenweave easier to work with than linen. I am so enjoying this project. I have definitely fallen in love with Classic Colorworks Marmalade fancy floss. That orange for the pumpkins is just gorgeous.
August Stackables by FQS (It’s Sew Emma)
I finished the top of the part of the Stackables and got a great start on the honeycomb after I finished the honey spoon and bee. I was feeling like I was getting nowhere and now, I feel like I am almost done. After the honeycomb, all I will have is the bucket and I have gotten really fast at stitching them.
Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
So close to finishing page 6. When that happens, I will finally be two-thirds of the way done. I am feeling so good about my progress on this project. I have been thinking about how this will be finished. I think I will have this one professionally framed when I am done.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
I am thinking that this next week I will be doing:
- WIPGO Project Winter Baskets #1 (night 3)
- WIPGO Project Mr September (night 3)
- Temperature Library knick knacks and Nov 7-12 books
- Start the small for September Calendar Crates
- Tenatively Finish November Year of Celebration
- Finish Fall Harvest
- Work on House on Pumpkin Hill
- Work on February Month 2 Month
Happy Mail Arrived
My order from 123 Stitch came with all the supplies for my Crescent City project. Caitlin already started and I am still prepping mine. If I find time I will attempt to start in November, otherwise the plan is to start in December.
I also received my backorder for some charts I had ordered. I put them in the bag with my other charts to be scanned. I got a new one from a designer I haven’t used before Lola Crow called Deadly Aquarium. I was very impressed with her booklet which included information on all the endangered species that she included in her chart. Well done chart. Very impressed. I also received another Fabulous House chart one with each order. I just need to get the last one released this month. I also picked up a chart for a series that I didn’t know was a series. I have Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and Rudolph already. I picked up Frosty the Snowman. Thrilled to have the complete series.
Everyone have a great weekend. Happy Stitching.

I’ll have to check into the evenweave, because working with linen is difficult for me. I was going to ask you what your plans were when you complete Fruit of Plenty, glad you are getting it professionally framed! Enjoy your week Peggy!
