To Do Tuesday #30

Hope everyone had a good holiday with friends and family. It is good to be home!

I went to Seattle to spend the holiday with my daughter so she wouldn’t be alone. We did a 5k Turkey Trot in the morning to get things rolling which caused me to be stiff as all heck the next couple of days. I am finally back to normal today.

To Do Tuesday #28

It was nice to be home all week. I was able to clean up a (very) little in my sewing studio and start looking at upcoming projects. Of course, starting a new project requires that I finish something soon!

To Do Tuesday #24

Hi Everyone! Hope this finds you all busy working on your projects . As we talked about last week, it has been a busy week with cooking and quilting classes. Then walking the quilt show and attending another Hockey weekend. The bright side is my grandson’s team qualified for the regular season over the weekend so we get a by for the next hockey weekend at end of October. Yeah! I will spend it quilting!

I am linking up with Linda for To Do Tuesday over on her website.

To Do Tuesday #23

The past two weeks have found me on the road more days than not. I am feeling a bit harried. This week won’t be any better because it is time for Pacific International Quilt Show here in the Bay Area. It starts tomorrow night and goes all the way until Sunday. I have classes both Thursday and Friday with my quilty friends which is always a lot of fun and games.

To Do Tuesday #22

This week was a good week. Still feeling a little anxious about finishing my Name of Rose quilt and February table runner. It doesn’t help that today Simba unthreaded my Gammill. I think in October, I am going to pick a week that the only thing I do is long arming. My fall quilt is almost ready and I have three others that definitely ready!

I am joining Linda over at Texas Quilt Gal for the To Do Tuesday Link Up. Thanks Linda!

To Do Tuesday #17

July just flew by! I can believe how quickly it went. I didn’t feel like I was gone that much but in reality I was gone for half the month. My biggest trip being to Utah for the Gammill Summit for long armers. It was awesome to meet so many people. My creative juices are just flying. So much inspiration!

Today is my daughter Caitlin’s 28th birthday! How quickly time flies!

Quilt Diary: June Goals and Update

I started a blog two months ago and never published it.  I apologize for my inconsistency these past few months.  I will try and close the gap and not make this too long of a blog.  I have been busy with my projects as well as work and home.

Quilt Diary: Mama Gypsy Update

Hi Everyone!  I finally finished all the blocks for the Mama Gypsy Quilt QAL that ended August 31st.  I liked this pattern and it is a great way to show off some special focus fabric.  This pattern was tooted a fat quarter friendly pattern, but I would have to disagree with that.  Yes you can use fat quarters, but do not expect to use just fat quarters and the background fabric for this entire quilt.  With the challenges of fabric placement that I faced in this pattern, I would be inclined to use fat quarters for all the large area blocks with some fat quarters from a fat quarter set, but the accents and diamonds that are formed, that is questionable.  I did not have enough diversity in one fat quarter bundle to do this nor could one fat quarter cut all four triangles.  Now pulling from your stash, that is a real possibility to use all fat quarters.  I ended up using my half-yard bundle to get a satisfactory layout.  I am very happy with my layout. Quilt Diary: Sept 2019 One Monthly Goal

September is here and it is time to linkup with Elm Street Quilts for the One Monthly Goal. I have been thinking about this for the last few days wondering what I should commit to. Thinking about what is close to being done and I just need a little push. I narrowed down to four possibilities: Schoolhouse mug rugs, Blooming Pansies, Autumn wall hanging, or pulling out my Halloween/October placemats. The verdict is: Halloween/October placemats! It is time to pull them out of the closet and finish them up. So I am committing to making four October placemats with my purple, black, and orange kitty fabric.  See above for sample.
