QUILT DIARY: APQResolution UFO Challenge – 2020 Finishes and 2021 Goals

2020 Finishes

I only finished two quilts in 2020. It was my first time participating in this challenge. It worked like it was supposed to other than I got discouraged. The idea was to work on a random quilt each month to progress and hopefully finish.

The first finish of 2020 was my Candy Rail quilt. It now resides on the couch.
This Kate Spain quilt was started NYE 2010 and finished May 2020. It was one of my first quilts I ever made and I did it with my grandson Shaun. It now resides in Canada with my daughter Caitlin.

2021 UFO Challenge Goals

I discovered that I think I would be happier if I was at the quilting phase. I don’t have as many at that stage as I would like so I picked for 2021 my twelve that were closest. Basting is my biggest hurdle for every quilt.

2021 APQ UFO Challenge Goals
#1: Christmas Advent Wedding Quilt -Current status is spray basted
#2: Princess Twin Quilt – Current status is top needs borders. I have a minkee backing that barely fits but no other minkee so it will have to do.

#4: Over and Under Quilt – Current status is stitch in the ditch is done.
#5: Mama Gypsy Quilt – Current status is waiting for borders. Backing is purchased.
#6: Rainbow Log Cabin Quilt – Top is assembled and backing fabric is purchased.
#7: Green Jelly Roll Race Quilt is for Jannes – Borders need to be added and backing is purchased
#8: Fall Quilt – Border and backing fabric needs to be purchased
#9: Black & Gold Jelly Roll Race Quilt – Borders to be added and backing is purchased.
#10: Jack Be Quick Basic Grey Quilt. This quilt was lost for 10 years and I was greatly relieved when I found it and the fabric to finish this quilt’s borders and backing.
#11: Alison Glass Half Square Triangle Rainbow Quilt. I need to decide if putting borders on this small quilt. I need to raid my stash for this one.
#12: Sunflower Charm Squared – Need to add borders and find a backing.

A Few Extra Projects Just In Case….

Charity Hexagon Butterfly Baby Quilt – This is partially quilted.
Minkee Baby Quilt – Have backing.

I hope to actually finish twelve quilts this year. I had heard about some quilters who would have a pile of quilts under the Christmas tree. Wouldn’t it be cool?

Happy Holidays Everyone!
